TMNT BATTLE: 1987 vs 2003 vs 2012

1987 Wins in fighting...period...1980's Toon Force puts them over the edge. Cartoons 2003 cartoon was very good...but I personally prefer 1980's and have them all on DVD.

@lukehero: Really, even with their childish ways? I always though the '03 ones were way more trained, mature, and disciplined, and therefore were better fighters. Also I prefer the overall show more, although that may be cause I grew up watching it.

Original Turtles. Nothing can beat the original.

2003, they were far more badass and dark. 1987 one was far to kidish, and the 2012 one is a bad mix of the two.

@lukehero: True. But as a show wise, which one would you prefer.

The 2003 show before it got crapped on in the retools/reboots of fast forward and back to the sewers is so superior to the other two it's not even funny.

I prefer the 2003 TMNT, and they would in a fight as of now. I'm growing more and more fond of the 2012 interpretations I might add. They have a lot of potential show, and combat wise.

Shredder was so awesome in the original 2003 show.

@wolverine08: @crom_cruach: My thoughts exactly. His character actually had dept, instead of being some dimwitted fool, like in the '87 show. And I also have to agree, the 2012 show is pretty good, but I still prefer the 03', even though fast foward was god awful.

He wasn't a really complicated villain, he was an intergalatic tyrant that wanted to dominate the galaxy, that's pretty much it. Depth is really a big word considering his motivations were so simple. Other then his relationship with Karai (which I'd wished they'd touched more upon) he really was a pretty standard bad guy.

But that's not a bad thing, what makes a villain is how you use him and how he progresses. The original run before the show got ruined with the retool used him expertly. They revealed him slowly, they made every appearance count and they made sure that no matter how the turtles progressed. He never lost his lethality. He was dangerous, he was competent and he didn't waste time with pointlessly complicated plots. Really for most of the run, the turtles weren't even his priority the Utroms were and the turtles were just in his way. So he moved to crush them and nearly did every time. Heck by the last arc "exodus" they lost and only the deus ex machina intervention of the Utrom high council saved the turtles.

Too be honest I haven't watched it in a long time either so I can't remember. But for starters, the theme.

@alakemega123: the robot butler was annoying and the theme sucked. They also changed the animation.

@allstarsuperman: we'll i geuss im kinda biased towards it because I grew up watching it but it wasn't the worst tmnt adaption.

2003 turtles all around.

The 2012 show is growing to be more of a mix of Ninja/Mutant action. I feel like they are becoming more ninja than they are becoming mutant.

@wolverine08: Never saw the 2003 series, the art style bothered me too much. What are those turtles feats?

I need to refresh a little, but going off memory, They were freaky superhuman across the board. Raphael had on occasion outwrestled Han(Whom was most definitely superhuman based on feats), Leo was fast enough to block projectiles like bullets IIRC, Mikey was skilled enough to win the Battle Nexus Champsionship( A galaxy wide contest testing warriors skills), etc. They're the most dangerous turtles IMO.

03 stomps. 80s was before my time and to cheesy to enjoy nowadays. I don't keep up with 12 anymore. The shredder is terrible and so are all the turtles except Mikey.

Also making Casey and April 15 or so was a bad decision IMHO.

@ostyo: I am liking the way Nick is doing TMNT. But 2003 turtles will always have the best action. As for 1987, I like them before the red sky seasons.

'87 Donatello whips up some random trash, makes it into an ultimate nullifier, and solos. As for which series is better, s'all good.

2003 series wins in both a fight and best show. In a fight, they took on the toughest villains of all three shows and were much more serious and disciplined. As far as shows go, it had the best animation, best action sequences and was closest to the comics.

2012 for me.

Going by current feats the 2012 Turtles are significantly more stronger and durable

Leo also possess healing capabilities mid combat and Mikey tanks blows that sends him flying across the street block with out any injures.
