This is the Amazo from the JLU animation.
Both are bloodlusted/no morals. No BFR. Fight is located where they are on neutral ground, so a vast empty space of space(?)

Because the Thought Robot was fighting multiversal entities (Mandrakk) while Amazo had a problem with Grundy because of his dark magic.

But Amazo also soloed the entire JLU besides J'onn and Fate(?) who were trying to find alternate ways to defeat him because they knew they couldn't do it by fighting him.
I don't think that low-balling feat. is a good showing of Amazo's power/skill
Would Amazo not be able to copy Thought Robot's powers?
@ImBoredLetsDebate:
I doubt it. And soloing the JLU isn't a big deal since the entire group combined... yeah, they aren't that powerful compared to their comic counterparts. Nothing Amazo did showed him to be of the level the Thought Robot and Mandrakk were.
Thought Robots stomp.....real hard.

I was thinking Amazo would be able to copy his powers while he continues to try to adapt to beat him; I thought it would be a decent match. I fail :D
Thought Robot was made to kill multiversal entities. Amazo has zero chance. Spite.

No, Amazo definitely has his limitations even in the cartoon. Amazo had to flat out retreat from Solomon Grundy because Grundy was imbued with chaos magic. Apparently Amazo couldn't simply look at Grundy and copy that chaos magic to gain an understanding of it. Thought Robot was fighting a guy who was a threat to universes, if not multiverses. Amazo's best showing in that cartoon was either his soloing of the Justice League or transporting Oa to another dimension.
Thought Robot is leagues (heh) above Amazo.
