I find no need for a conjunction. I concur

I'm sure thor cant die, but wolverine can. so this is a easy choice.

#9 Posted by Cosmic Sentinel (3749 posts) - - Show Bio

Thor. There is a reason Tony and Reed tried to clone him to win the Civil War.

#10 Posted by Satyrquaze (4542 posts) - - Show Bio

Wolverine can do just enough damage to piss off Thor, that's it.

Mjolnir can break adamantium.

Yes.

It can.

Thor has crushed Ultron quite a few times.

Besides as someone else already pointed out, Tony didn't spend a fortune cloning Wolverine in time for Civil War. Not like theres a lack of characters who have an impressive healing factor and/or claws and an mysterious past.

I refer you and Captain UK to the "Cross Company Character Rankings".

Wolverine is Low Level Mid Tier Metahuman.

Thor is High Herald Level.

Sure, Wolverine is the best at what he does (just ask him), but he's not a friggen god.

Wow, the rankings are already being used. Someone else linked it in another battle. Cool.

Also, Thor wins.

Wolverine is completely outclassed. Even if he manages to regenerate after being splattered by Mjolnir, Thor will just get bored and toss him into the sun.

I say Thor. But with prep time could Wolverine win? I know powerwise he's outclassed but he's lived a very long colorful life and has picked up some valuable skills all across the board. Not to mention his impeccable fighting record, Adamantium skeleton, healing factor and access to many different covert operations technology. With prep time could Wolvie win or is the ranking system the authority on wins. And I know it has been established that power level does not gaurantee a win. But that was the evidence used to support the decision.....So could Wolvie with preptime win?

Sure, Sure. Wolvie's been around for over a hundred years or so, but how long has Thor been around? Are you saying Thor hasn't lived a long and colorful life? He's only been fighting since the dawn of time and picked a "few" useful skills along the way. Thor's fighting record isn't bad either. Physically, Thor is on par with Superman. Could Wolverine beat Supes?

If Wolvie has access to all that Special Ops gear, then Thor has access to all the magic in Asgard. With prep time, Thor could take out anyone from Galactus himself all the way down to Alfred Pennyworth. That said, giving prep time for Wolvie, he might be able to win 10% of the time. For Wolverine to win more often than that would require a writer has no real impression of what Thor is truly capable of, and one that thinks that Black Panther could stop Silver Surfer with an armbar. (facepalm)

The ranking system is not the ultimate authority, common sense is. Could a human hope to beat the god of thunder of Norse mythology in physical combat?

I should add invisibility to my power set:

Satyrquaze says:

"Besides as someone else already pointed out, Tony didn't spend a fortune cloning Wolverine in time for Civil War."

Me, in the post above it.

Buckshot says:

"Wow, the rankings are already being used. Someone else linked it in another battle. Cool. Also, Thor wins."

Also me, in the Spider-man vs Wonder Woman thread. Though I was hoping that people would join my "raise Martian Manhunter to High Herald campaign."

I think we could come up with quite a few gods that Wolverine could beat. But he certainly cant beat Thor. Being a god doesn't mean you automatically trump all nongods.

I'll see if there is any online evidence. I do think I've seen something like that said in a Thor comic where he was chasing a spaceship. But I dont remember how fast they said he could fly and I dont have that comic anymore.

The little man in my head hurts my brain when he reads things like this thread, or anything stupid in general.

Now, ok, Thor with Mjollner wins, no debate, and no Stairway. But, let's pretend that Thor, being the fun-loving Viking God that he is, gets challenged to a sparring contest by Wolverine. Not to the death, but to the hospitalization. Now, since the Thundergod is honorable and definitely loves a good fight, I see him putting Mjollner down for this fight, and in fact doing this unarmed.

Now, even still, there is just no way that Wolverine could subdue Thor, if we assume that he doesn't turn into Donald Blake when putting down Mjollner. When we assume that he's always a God, 24/7, with a God's physiology, with a God's superior strength and amazing bone density, and a God's lifetime of combat expertise fighting trolls and dragons and all sorts of crazy things inbetween, I see this ending with the Odinson either knocking out or pinning Mr. Logan for the victory. Yes. Yes I do.
