Hey, can someone explain me what's going on with this scan?
It looks like Thor is casually smacking around Thanos. What's going on here?
What do you think is going on? Thor is kicking Thanos' @$$.

"Casually"? Looks like Thor's putting his absolute best effort into to me, which he was.
Anyway, it's from Infinity Gauntlet. Next page Thanos turns Thor into crystal, then smashes him.
From which issue is that? Because I read the Infinity Gauntlet saga but don't remember seeing that there.
Is this real Thanos? Because this girl below him has the same costume. Aren't that some clones? When did it happen?

@___Living_Tribunal_22__: @czarny_samael666:@Killemall:
The scan is from Infinity Gauntlet #4. The purple woman is Terraxia (she kills Spiderman, BTW, as well as Iron Man). Thanos created her with the Gauntlet in an attempt to make Mistress Death jealous (it didn't work). The Thor is Eric Masterson Thor. Thanos was restricting his abilities at the time in an attempt to show off in front of Mistress Death and impress her (also didn't work). Immediately afterwards he turns Thor into glass, then kills Nova, then smashes Thor. Oh, then he kills Quasar with no difficulty. I have a theory that Jim Starlin and Mark Gruenwald were having some sort of competition over who could create the more cosmic story arc at the time (I think it's obvious Starlin won, since hardly anyone knows or cares about the Maelstrom arc).
Thanos defeats Thor, but gets his frickin heart ripped out by Drax the Destroyer whos significantly less powerful than Thor? That makes no sense to me. SMH, Lol
It toke classic Thor with power gem and warrior madness to actually make Thanos bleed.
This happens wen Thanos docent jobb.

Because Drax was created to kill Thanos, he is basically his kryptonite.
Oh ok, I gotcha. Kinda reminds me of how Orion ripped out Darkseid's heart in the same manner. awesome
@Morpheus_: While that's absolutely true, Giffen Drax decapitated Marvel's version of Lobo and it's implied he killed him for good.
They got his HeroClix backwards. The experienced version has a better accuracy value while the veteran does more damage.

For clarity's sake, let me say that Thanos isn't weakened by Drax's presence. If he were, he wouldn't have beaten him nearly a dozen times already. Drax was actually powered up due to being in Thanos' presence in Annihilation (hence the green glow), which is rather different. And Thanos did end up blowing that version of Drax to pieces when they met again during the Thanos Imperative.
Didn't Drax stomp thanos before he blew drax? I saw some scans on a drax respect thread where drax used weapons to take thanos down.
I've read Giffen's story with the Surfer and Lunatik in Marvel Comics Presents, that was some insane stuff. Drax's mini was pretty good, but my recollection of it is hazy. Wasn't Lunatik supposed to be weakened in some way?@Morpheus_: While that's absolutely true, Giffen Drax decapitated Marvel's version of Lobo and it's implied he killed him for good.

Drax used a bomb to disintegrate Thanos, Thanos healed and then one-shotted Drax.@Morpheus_ said:

@Morpheus_: I don't recall Lunat!k being weakened. Then again it might've happened before the mini. I'll have to doublecheck.
Why were his blades so effective? I've heard conflicing reports. Some say they're regular hunting knives and it's bad writing, but others have claimed he dipped them in some alien chemical.
Thanks.
I think I saw a handbook entry for him some time ago, which listed rankings pre, and post some depowerment. I'll seek it out.@Morpheus_: I don't recall Lunat!k being weakened. Then again it might've happened before the mini. I'll have to doublecheck.

I'd be lying if I said I remember, so I'll have to go back and reread it. The various Annihilation minis are a blur to me for the most part, since it's been quite a while since I read them. Loved the series, though.
@Morpheus_: Giffen usually does good stuff. I LOVED his Defenders 6-issue mini. JLI was hilarious. And of course, he co-created Lobo.
Agreed on Giffen, he's one of my favourites. I actually haven't read past the first TPB of JLI, but I really liked what I read.@Morpheus_: Giffen usually does good stuff. I LOVED his Defenders 6-issue mini. JLI was hilarious. And of course, he co-created Lobo.
