takes place in space, both aware of each other's abilities, win by death, both bloodlusted.

Thor has mastered ALL the powers he's ever displayed over the years(energy absorption, time travel, etc.) except Odin Force and Rune Magic.

Thor is more in line with Hal Jordan and the black guy, Kilowag won't go down easy but he will go down.

Thor would still defeat Hal, since GL constructs tend to go down with Superman-level hits, and Hal can defeat Kilowog. So...

Thor wins.

I do think it'd be a decent fight at first, then Kilowog goes down after about two minutes.

It's the same as other threads, because Modern Thor still possesses 99% of the abilities he's displayed over the years.

My reasoning is impeccable.

Lol.

Why is everyone saying Kilowog is such a downgrade from Hal or John? I'm not the most knowledgeable GL guy, but my initial reaction was that this would be a good fight?

1. What made you lol?

2. He isn't that much of a downgrade, Kilowog has a GL RING, for christ's sake, it can basically do anything!

@majestic99: Oh, just the way lots of replies are simply "X character stomps" and your reply about not providing an explanation because of impeccable reasoning. I also appreciate a little more elaboration, even if it's just the preferred stomping method, lol.

I'll have to read up some more on Kilowog and his feats, or my own view of the fight wont be much more fleshed out either : )

lol "Kilowog"...that name always make me laugh, one letter switch away from sounding incredibily racist.

Anyway Thor wins.

Enough power to destroy his constructs, much more durable, can use some very powerful magic (winds of 1000 worlds, Godblast etc.) and so on, and so on. Much more impressive feats. Thor would stomp.

Correct me if i am wrong but Kilowog has beaten Superman right and was strong enough to care his whole home plant of people in his ring. I don't know if he would win but i think he'd give him a hell of a fight.

Well, I didnt say it'd be a stomp, but I think Thor should win like 8/10. I'm basing this on Hal one-shoting Kilowog during Emerald Twilight which shows Hal is more powerful than Kilowog. And, while Hal would give Thor a really good fight, GL constructs dont hold up well to hard Superman-level hits. So I think Thor should be able to take down Kilowog's constructs with hammer hits, and all his other powers would make it really hard on Kilowog to win fights.

Well Thor is. Thor should be ranked higher.

Thor is more versatile, hits harder, more stronger attacks, and just about even strength, Superman only got reaction speed, maybe strength.

I'm not really sure if Thor is at Superman's level of strength, probably Superman is stronger. But, with the hammer, Thor hits as hard as Superman.

I know it doesnt give him enhanced strength, I just think that hitting with the hammer is a harder hit than if he hit with his fist.

Kilowog will hold off Thor for a couple minutes than slowly go down hit after hit, eventually resulting in overwhelming pain, than Kilowog will be so exhausted he will leave himself wide open and be punched and killed/KO'd.

It'll be the same force since the hammer doesn't give Thor a strength boost.

Hitting someone with a hammer does more damage than hitting them with your fist. Sorry, I dont have time to explain the physics of it. In any case, it should be obvious that this is true.

Of course it does more damage, but your exact words were with the hammer, Thor hits as hard as Superman, implying the hammer gives Thor a strength boost, which it does not.

I wasnt implying anything about strength. I said it hits harder, which is exactly what a hammer is compared to a fist... harder.

hard [hahrd] adjective, hard·er, hard·est, adverb, hard·er, hard·est, noun

adjective

1. not soft; solid and firm to the touch; unyielding to pressure and impenetrable or almost impenetrable.

Thor hits harder with the hammer because it's made of some hard magical metal, which is more unyielding than his fist. Also, the hammer has additional mass, hence additional momentum applied to the hit. Lastly, the hammer puts the mass at the end of a lever, which increases the mechanical advantage, and hence the head of the hammer will hit with more force/momentum than if Thor was holding the hammers head in his hand.
