When? I thought all of it was used to fix Mjolnir (Thor #600).

Thor 10/10
Thor is much more intelligent, stronger, faster, and all around better.
Ares, unfortunately, has become a major league jobber.

Any Thor, CURBSTOMP! Ares has never been in Thor's league! Thor has battles Ares father, Zeus, for months in Olympia.

He does? He hasn't even had his own issue in almost 2 months, when he lost the OF.

Thor.

yeah Thor wins this with no major effort imho ... which is kind of sad, since its Ares, the frigging greek God of War. They could have made him such a cool character ... obviously they watched too much Xena and did not bother to read about the mythological Deity.

I think Marvel Ares is actually more in line with mythology than Xena Ares.

@Caine:  yeah in marvel he still has great skill as a fighter on level with thor its just thor has much more powers.

You really think so? Greek Mythology describes him as the God of War and Bloodshed, Slaughter personified and a beeing of unpredictable and immense violence (strategic Warfare was Athenas Game). He is listed as one of the 12 main gods of the greek pantheon.

I just cant see a deity like this beeing in the Dark Avengers team, "bowing" to someone like Norman.

Well keep in mind that mythlogically Ares is usually portrayed as a blustering, self-centered goon, and a bit of a coward to boot.  Rather than stand up and show his own wrath he'd often go and hide behind Zues and whine when he felt bested.  Like when Diomedes cut him in the Illiad.  Ares almost /never/ took personal action.  He was more the embodiment of a lazy warlord that hide behind a powerful force, rather than an example of a great warrior himself.

Farwell, God of War...

#43 Posted by thorthorthorthor (40 posts) - - Show Bio

As a thor fan, I think Ares takes this. He'll punch Thor to the gut, when Thor starts puking, Ares will pick up Thors hammer then smash Thors limbs. When Thor cries that Ares just kills him instead of prolonging the inevitable. Ares will smash Thors face and feed Thors scattered flesh to stray cats.

@thorthorthorthor: so tell me...what's your favorite thor comic?

Hello fellow Thor fan. I like all Thors comics equally, I find them all good and the reason 'am a fan. Unfortunately, as much as I like discussing Thor with my fellow fan... this is not the proper thread and will probably be my last reply to any off topic discussion as it may derail the topic at hand.T_T Let us stick to the current topic and discuss our favorite hero in the proper thread.=)
