Going to say with reasonable confidence you never actually read Lucifer. Most of their opponents are moderate level reality warpers, wrong tier.

How would the brothers take the down? They have high level reality warping powers but they still have limits. Hyperstorm, Franklin, WPOTC, New Sun don't seem to have limits. 
All they need do is get Lucifer's wings away from him.
