Thing lifts the whale throweing out into the ocean far out of fsight.

"Sorry i'm a little hard of hearing. I had a whale in the ear."

With a flash both combatants find themselves in a giant enclosure to big to comprehend. The water leve is waist high and there are sandy shores everywhere.

"Good ole Franklin. Alway lookinh out fer little ole me."

"You're crazy. The boy is asleep and his powers are going out of control."

Well if he had his magic hand, as thing is still vulnerable to illness and fatigue it is safe to assume that he still has blood and liquid in his body which would mean Aquaman would have control over the moisture in his body and as he has no code against killing that would equal a big pile of dry rocks. However, as he has his harpoon hand he can still shoot with uncanny accuracy which he could aim at the things eyes thereby blinding or killing him outright depending on how fast he can react to it. Plus Aquaman has fought White Martians and been victorious and their level of strength and endurance is on par with the martian manhunter so i'd say that he could easily take the best the thing could dish out.

If The Thing catches Aquaman out the water. The Thing could really put a pounding on Aquaman

Maybe but even then it would take a seriously extended period of time before he was weakened seriously from lack of water. But in this scenario it seems like they are on some sort of beach. Aquaman is much quicker than the thing and would easily be able to manouevre him to the water's edge as well as he easily has the strength to throw him relatively far in the water then he can just pick him apart.

Thing wins.
