The Expand Your Knowledge Tournament

This is my very first tournament and I wan't to do something a little different. Recently Primez0ne did a tournament for characters that aren't very known so I wan't to do something similar. But instead of characters that you know much about but others might not, its going to be a little different. This is for viners that want to increase their knowledge and versatility in the characters that they are able to debate with. If you are a Marvel fan, pick a DC character, and vice versa. If you are a fan of Marvel and DC pick an Image character. If you are a fan of comics then pick manga or novel character. Don't be afraid to challenge yourself

Here's How It Works:

• I'm going to pre-select a bunch of characters that are used on the Vine but are not the most popular characters around. For example, Superman and Hulk are widely known and extremely popular so they will not be in the list of possible characters, even if you know little to nothing about them. But you might be able to use Invincible or Magneto, both are widely known but are not exactly as popular, but they each are used a fair amount on the vine.
• The characters will be divided into a tier (street, mid, high, herald, transcendant)
• You can select your tier and then pick a character. It would be smartest to choose one that you have heard about or know a little about them and become an expert in that character. Or if you are up to a challenge you can select one that you have never heard of before.
• You will be given a set amount of time to become well versed in your character.
• You will then have a normal CAV type match-up
• There will be moderators who are well versed in each character there monitoring each battle.
• The winner of the match will be the person who represented their character better, that may not always be the character who wins the actual fight. You are an expert when you can teach others about a subject so your job is to win as well as educate.

@hulkage: Lol, replace SSJ3 Goku with SSJ God. He'd be more fitting for "High Herald." Most of the guys in "Low Herald" are nowhere near that level.

And if you do that thing for Goku, I'll take him. I've never debated anime/manga characters before.

I thought SSJ God Goku lacks feats and would be more speculation than anything and by power scaling he is way too much for high herald tier. But if other people agree that he is only in that tier then I'll put him in it.

Most people in low herald tier are higher than the people in high tier so I didn't want to intermix them due to the obvious power gap.

Every DBZ character relies on a lot of speculation. I'm not going to say he can bust galaxies or anything like that.

I'm interested to get down in this.....

The tiers in this are skewed out of proportion.

I'll move characters in and out of tiers if I need to.

You should add Ghost Rider, I'll debate for him, he is high herald Tier

Low Herald Tier is planet level, and King Vegeta who was weaker than Saiyan Saga Vegeta could destroy multiple planets with a wave of his hands. By Eos/SSJ3, Goku is considerably above solar system level (this is proven when he and Vegeta spar in the events of DBO and supernova level energies are still being released far after their battle ended) and has planet level punches. I'd say that's comfortably high herald level.

I'll take Thor, if he's here. I never debated for him before.

@hulkage: Why you should add Ghos Rider

1. Not well known, some people know who he is but not alot of people know the extent of him

2. I've Never debated him before

3. He belongs in High Hearld Tier, which is looking small

i wouldnt put binary at high herald she doesnt have feats to justify imo

I don't see this getting off the ground. So many teirs will make the tournament too wide spread. Id suggest maybe 3.

@hulkage: EoS? High tier I guess. But really, some of the choices in this are just silly. You have "high herald" characters, yet you limit someone like Luffy to Pre-TS? Why? Why on Earth would you allow SSJ3 Goku in, but then limit Piccolo and Kurillin to some early version no one will ever want to use?

Why the hell is Naruto in herald tier? Then I go and see you have Pre-TS Sasuke in, but current Naruto? Honestly, these choices and placements are just ridiculous.

@hulkage: Is it possible I can enter the Tourney Twice? I would like to debate for Terimantor in Street level. (I am assuming it Arnold and he gets his "Death Battle" weapons.

@hulkage: Seems very interesting. Can I join with Classic Spawn (Mid-Tier)? I haven't read Spawn yet, so why not now?

@attackonshahbaz: New people, like yourself, can only make 5 post a day, but once you get to 25 that limit is lifted, the reason why you should get to 25 is that limit can be lifted and allow you to debate and explore Comicvine better.

@attackonshahbaz: happened to me too. Just a suggestion try to do some challenge a viners before joining tournaments. It lets you control your own level.

@hulkage Gunna switch ryu to predator if your allowing him in...but imma also gunna keep CC but you should slim down the list when u make the final revisions BC it is pretty wide spread especially if ur gunna keep all the characters and add more in.......unless you wanna allow 3 characters for everybody...which I'm cool with too

I clearly stated that I can add characters due to interest. I only made this character list to give people an idea on who they can pick. This was never supposed to be just a comprehensive, set-in-stone list. This was basically just a sampler.

And I never limited them to anything, I simply did that because they have different power levels and to give people an idea.

Naruto is a low herald character easily and could compete with almost anybody in the same list that I put him with.
