What kind of opening are they using?

Let say if Darksied is Black and Emperor is White and they open game starting Queen' Gambit: Darksied May Lose becuase Queen's Gambit is mainly an attack to off balance black's game.

If the opening is not Q-4/5 and black opens with K-Knight then it would the King's Indian Defense; which then allows Black to use many counters and reversals.

So it really depends on the opening. We don't need to assume which one is better at chess becuase they are both brilliant minds. So I would say the opening of the game would count for the mid and thus resorting who wins the end game.
