Thanos vs your 5 person team

Just as the title suggests, it's Thanos vs a team of 5 persons of your choosing.

Rules:

• No characters above "herald level" (herald level guys are ok)
• No characters that copy powers
• No Flash/Zoom
• No time manipulation (characters can have the ability, they just can use it)
• Standard equipment (nothing abnormal)
• Location: empty universe on indestructible planet
• No BFR
• No knowledge of each other unless some/all of your characters have encountered Thanos before
• All characters are taking this fight very seriously and motivated to win (not an open ticket to do totally ridiculous out of character things)
• 10 minutes of prep to formulate a plan only. No grabbing equipment, talking to non-team members, amping up, etc.
• Win by death only.
  • Thanos can die, Death is not involved.

Feel free to give a short explanation of why you chose your team and how they will win. Most of all have fun, this isn't a big debate thread.

First of all i don't think anyone not above herald level can do anything to him with energy or physical attacks. If we accept Surfer as the highest order of herald (we should) he is perfectly incapable of harming Thanos so i will approach it with the magic. While Mangog and Alan Scott keeping Thanos busy 3 Doctors will find a way to depower him and make him ''beatable''

I don't think anyone short of herald level can actually kill Thanos..hell even K.Oing him is damn near impossible.

Photon has shown the ability to manipulate forcefields, absorb energy on a universal level and has hurt Zeus before so she alone can give Thanos some trouble.

Blue Marvel is super strong and super durable and while he can't get close to beating Thanos head up physically, he can hold his own.

Darwin simply adapts and can solo

Black Panther is good for absorbing his cosmic energy and for his energy daggers that can temporarily hurt and distract Thanos

Blade is pretty useless except his Odachi are made of Adamantium which can hurt and maybe even penetrate Thanos. Should say, Blue Marvel get a hold of them, it would be very beneficial to my team.

I'd go with:

Mongul Jr(with 10 yellow lantern rings)

Silver Surfer

Gladiator

Superboy Prime

Despero

Despero alone should easily make him back off from any telepathic assault.

SBP and full confidence gladiator are a physical match to him,just as much as despero is, and a ringed Mongul and a serious SS should match his energy projection.

I don't see Thanos getting out a random PIS free encouter against this team, given that in those 10 min SS will have explained his abilities to the others.

It's no one above herald level, herald level should be ok.

@pierpat I meant to even possess the capacity to end him one would have to be at least herald level. Actually accomplishing it in a fight is something different entirely..

Since it seems to be a cause of confusion, herald level folks are fine. The restriction is no folks above herald level are allowed.

Looks close enough. I like it, I'm thinking of mine and like some of your rationale. Especially I high level telepath to offset Thanos.

Been waiting for folks to choose Drax. MJJ and The Mask would be too powerful. I like the other picks.

To make it a bit more extreme, you could replace SBP with Majestros, witch with creation blades could potentially solo, and replace Mongul with Hank Henshaw with his rings.

That would be my top-5 herald list, probably,and they could surely take a solid majority against thanos.

• LongShot - little luck won't hurt!

Dazzler and Black Bolt and someone to negate TP if it's an issue.

Black Bolt screams at Dazzler and she vaporizes Thanos

Or Black Bolt possibly solos if he starts the fight with a vice grip on his balls.

Loki- Magic on Par with Strange and has Power Enhancing Magic,

X-man (with powers)- has already stalemated Thanos and can protect with Telepathy

Thanos's weakness is "a subconscious desire to lose." this means Thanos "arrange[s] for himself to be defeated" because deep down he knows he doesn't deserve to win.

I have a lot of heavy hitters on my team. Darwin will adapt to whatever thanos can throw at him. Hulk and doomsday will wail away on him while thor and dakrseid (or dante) can blast at him from a distance (or get in close for some damage). Thanos will eventually die from taking too much punishment

Hulk and Glads are more than a match for him physically and can occupy, surfer and quasar can bring in ranged support, as well as redirecting energy attacks.

Cable can be the maestro of our team, slowing thanos down with TK, distracting him with TP, or helping quasar and sirfer with their job.
