@eternityx: @mrphoenix: isn't he at a huge disadvantage, speed-wise?
and I don't recall Thanos having any proper AoE attacks

Wonder Woman has decent defenses can like, make illusions disappear with her lasso
@betatesthighlander1 Who said he would target Diana?
@juiceboks: no matter who he targets, he can't cast illusions ( a form of lying) unto any of the other memebers
@juiceboks: no matter who he targets, he can't cast illusions ( a form of lying) unto any of the other memebers
But he can still mind rape them.

How exactly does mind rape work though?
against Drax he seemed to just be convincing him of a lot of things that are only detestably true (or outright lies)
also, with Thanos's self-hatred, wouldn't he just immediately stop fighting once he got lassoed?

But with Galactus he actually attacked his mind.
Thanos wins here. His striking power, energy projection and telepathy all far outclass his opponents. And while it's true he lacks the necessary speed, his extremely durable shields should be able to tank anything the team can throw his way.

again, with Thanos's self-hatred, I think the lasso would make him just sit there and cry

But when has Thanos hated himself and when has the Lasso done that to someone and she needs to get through his shields.

Thanos totally hates himself, he's always sabotaging his own plans. rememebr?
also, Lasso of truth works through shields at least once

It's never been stated that he hates himself. He has given up ultimate power several times, but reasons why have never been stated. Also you've just uploaded a scan showing how easy it is to escape the Lasso.
As well as this how are the team going to deal with the mind rape and getting turned to stone.

Diana can't lasso her whole team that consists of two characters faster and stronger than her, and one who is roughly in her paygrade. Especially when it's the last thing she'll expect to happen. Not to mention she'll still have Thanos to worry about.
Also, when has she used her lasso to free someone of being mind assaulted? There have been several instances where she had the oppurtunity to use it but she didn't. And she'd be fighting 3 people who could beat/mess her up and one who could easily beat her into submission if he got the chance.

No, she just ahs to lasso Thanos

You think she'll figure out she needs to do that? Especially while fighting Kara, Kara, and Kory?

Lasso is usually her first choice, and she can move way faster than Thanos can control people

She can't think to use her lasso faster than Thanos can think and mind control the team. I see this playing out similar to when Hector mind controlled Superman and he bullrushed her. Except she's gonna be fighting 3 characters who are all on his level and one who poses an even bigger threat to her.

has Thanos ever mind controlled someone in less than a few seconds?

Yea..telepaths much weaker than him have mind assaulted pretty much instantaneously.
And what makes it more impressive is that it's Hulk, of all people. A character with a pretty good track record of resisting telepaths.

People had an entire conversation in the amount of time it took him to control Hulk, taht seems to be more than a few seconds
@betatesthighlander1 Who says it took him the whole conversation to accomplish that? It looks he controlled Hulk after he said "and yet the weakest of minds". Even if it did take him the whole conversation, it's Hulk. He has a pretty high level of TP resistance compared to the others in this fight who have..well..none really.

yes, but just because he can conquer strong minds in a long time, doesn't mean he could conquer weak ones quickly (can he even think quicker than Diana?)

Why wouldn't it? If we assume it took the whole conservation, that's roughly 20 seconds of TP assault. I honestly still doubt it took more than a second considering there was no struggle heard from Hulk. No "Get out of my head!" or anything, and it appears it all happened with very little effort on Thanos' part. It's pretty well established he's one of the most powerful non abstract telepaths in the MU, taking control of a couple females with no TP resistance to speak of should be a walk in the park for him.

why would it suggest he could do that?
An armor-piercing bullet doesn't kill everyone near the bullet
a jackhammer doesn't destroy everything soft in proximity

You can only fire that bullet once.
A jackhammer can squash a couple ants if they're near each other.
@adamtrmm: Depends on how you define impressive and it can differ through comparison. Thanos is made out to be more than he is on the Vine
You don't think soloing the Avengers, standing up to multiple Gungnir empowered blasts from Odin, and telepathically straining Galactus is impressive? No matter how you look at it, Thanos is an extremely powerful individual. Yea he's a little overrated, but he has the feats to justify people thinking so highly of him.
Fighting Thor, Hyperion, Hulk and Ms. Marvel (CA should've died from the first shock wave, what the f*ck did they put him there?), laughing in their faces and not really being affected by Mjolnir's most powerful strikes and lightnings? Fits pretty well into a definition of "impressive" in my vocabulary.

I know full well of his capabilities and thinking of him high is certified but placing him above his position is what I have a problem with - I'm guessing it comes from the excitement or how he performs the feats.
