The problem with wielding the nullifier is that the wielder needs to have a degree of control...albeit a strong mind...to keep from annihilating himself in the process. Basically, it will destroy anything in it's path. Morg has never struck me as the...sharpest tool in the shed, although terrifically powerful.
Thanos on the other hand, in my opinion, every bit as powerful, if not more so, as Morg has already used the infinity gauntlet...with great effectiveness. One of Thanos' greatest weapons is his vast intellect and that's saying a mouthful considering his level of power without the gauntlet.
