@sirfizzwhizz: one SoV needed to kill Thanos.
Zarthous Solos, Danny makes it overkill
i wonder what would happen if they both ps him at the same time?
@lettsplay10: @drfate:may i ask how?
@ghostrider2: http://www.comicvine.com/thanos/4005-7607/forums/respect-thanos-742754/
@lettsplay10: i know and read Thanos.
@ghostrider2: What did Ghost Riders do that makes them better then this
@lettsplay10: beating hell lords?
@ghostrider2: Galactus is above them and thanos could survive a blast from him
Thanos fought odin to a stalemate
@lettsplay10: Thanos cannot do that.Did you see what DP Tyrant did him?
@ghostrider2: Tyrant?
i was talking about his fight with odin
and Thanos took a blast from galactus and survived
Thanos took a blast from surfer and he said are you done
and Thor with the power gem was nothing to him
@lettsplay10: DP Tyrant is close to Odin or equal.I do wonder if Odin can walk into Mephisto realm as easily as GR.And Sov also isn't far behind Odin.Honestly hell lords are underrated here as usual.
And i was using Tyrant to show you that Thanos is not at Odin level.
@ghostrider2: odin is skyfather level
Nobody has more sins on their soul than Thanos. He'd be lost in a penance stare for centuries. Ghost Rider may not have the feats against Celestials that Thanos has, but his power set is a worst-case-scenario practically tailor made for stopping Thanos. Psycics and TP specialists are NOT immune to the penance stare.
@neongamewave: you know both i guess, how does he win?
Thanos. I don't think the Penance Stare would work on him as he has no guilt or remorse over what he's done.
@neongamewave: you know both i guess, how does he win?
Usually most would say Ghost Rider as I would agree due to Zarathos but Thanos currently has gotten stronger and his feats have progressed further also he`s dealt with magic before, and I don`t see the Penance Stare bothering him that much.
@wavemotioncannon: unlike penance stare, hellfire soul burn doesn't have that ''limit''
He burned dudes that had no regrets before.
@neongamewave: hellfire soul burn has no requirement.Of course that doesn't mean he can burn celestials lol.
@rickythanos: Deadpool has an incredible amount of sins as well but was still immune to the penance stare. It made him just see a "highlight reel" which then turned ghost rider back to Johnny Blaze and Deadpool then punched blaze in the face. If that happened with Thanos, Blaze would be dead. Not saying it would, but obviously there are ways to counter the penance stare.
Thanos regretted his sins so Penance Stare will definitely work, so will Hell Fire.
Yep.
It's not that Ghost Rider is more powerful, because he is definitely SEVERAL leagues below Thanos in power. It's that his power set doesn't require physical power or destructive capability to defeat an opponent. He turns their own soul against them. Think of it as a spiritual nut-shot: no matter how tough the guy is, if they're there, and they get kicked, he goes down.
Thanos is NOT without guilt. He even felt the need to make amends at the end of the HOTU storyline.
@ghostrider2: @simon_the_digger: @neongamewave: why does anyone think Regret is a requirement of the PS?
Other than one current and PIS comment from Punisher, or the retarded Agent Venom showing, name one f***ing time the words "regret" was stated to be needed? Please someone do. Both these examples by the same writer on the thunderbolts run is completely not in line with the establish GR mythos on how the PS works.
Penance Stare
Here he uses it on Blade with the power of the Darkhold. That little book that contains C'thons power. The Eldar god that created Dark Magic.
"Blades experience is no different from the countless others who have felt the pain they have inflicted."
"No different, but a hundredfold more severe."
"Every cell in his body explodes with the pain that he has inflicted upon his recent victims."
"He relieves their deaths a thousand times in the span of a microsecond."
"The Experience threatens to shatter his mind."
Why is "regret" not mention once? Well, it is because it does not matter, thats why.
Here he uses it without trouble on Madcap, a Psychopath being with a insanity stare. Thats how crazy, and Morales this guys is. Works on him fine. Again this guy has no morals, and whats more, ENJOYS the Penance Stare, but it still puts Madcap out for a time from the pain. How can he have regret when he is so insane, he has powers from it, and he enjoys the pain it causes. In the scan he states over and over "The pain, the pain, THE PAIN!" Yeah alot of regret there lol.
Works just fine on Dr. Strange who has the great TP feats and sound mind of any character.
here it destroys a Nobel angel who answered only to God. This put his life many times on the line for Ghost Rider and a child. Yet he was hiding a secrete, and was no innocent. He fried and died from the menace Stare! Died from it! Regret caused him to disintegrate?
This attack is so potent, it works on Ghost Riders themselves, embodiment's of Vengeance with no morals, simply because they harm people, whether by Gods orders or not.Notice in these scans how it states the following as well.
"Experience all the pain and suffering he's ever caused others, quite a jolt I bet."
"His white fire sears through me.... searching deeply into my soul.... searching for something to hold onto... something to destroy."
Where does regret come in here? The first one states experience all pain and suffering, and second states white fire searing to the soul for something to destroy lol.
Ir can also be use to search the minds of others too, no pain need to be caused, like with this Fallen Angel, and Wendigo.
The Only time it has FAILED is when used on Souless people, people empowered by suffering, or people that are stated immune to it via divine intervention.
Fails on souless people.
Fails on Blackheart because he is a Hell Lord who is empowered by death and pain.
Fails on the Deacon, because he had a special stated plot device protection from it by the Angel Zadkiel.
The Penance Stare has also shown to be able to affect a whole city currently in comics.
No eye contact required. Here Strange had to erect a special shield to protect himself, Man Thing (who is brain dead for the most part), Thor, Captain America, and more from it. I am sure all those people have little to no regret as say Punisher who through PIS shrugged it off. LMAO.
Know your lore people :).

Right, but to be fair, Thanos is backed up by Death (in a composite state), so we there is the possibility of Penance Stare not working exactly as it should on Thanos. But that's kind of theoretical though and not my point. I don't completely disagree that Thanos would be vulnerable to penance stare, but it's not likely that Ghost Rider would even get the chance to use it.
His telepathy could KO Ghost Rider, Thanos could BFR him, his shields are a problem (and may prevent the Penance Stare), etc. There's just too many high level feats for the Ghost Riders to contend with. If they (both GR's) were in the same weight class, I'd agree, but you have to remember that Thanos is at a level where he can briefly stand his ground with Galactus, go toe-to-toe with Odin, or even lay an effortless beat-down on Surfer-level opponents. Heck, even multiple Herald level characters can't do jack to him.
I just don't think that the GRs have the stats or abilities to deal with Thanos, even in Thanos' base state.
You guys do realize that ghost rider single handidly beat galactus with peneance stare , same thing to thanos .
#ThanosGoesToHell
@lariend: One can not outsmart a penance stare. Since the SoV's are in control, you cant knock eitherof them out, and last time i checked thanos wasn't god, so he has no way of killing these two, meanwhile they torture his soul for all of the people he killed

Soul Burn.No shields can shield you from him, Dr. Strange tried and said he cannot protect his teammates for long.
You also have to remember that GR beats hell lords.
Thanos doesn't have a way to beat them.
Thanos cannot go toe to toe with Odin.
They're probably less powerful than Odin, so Thanos murderstompspitesmashmassacressolosfapfapityfap.
No exceptions.
EVER.
Did you lost respect for hell lords already?
@106me: you do know GRs show time and again immunity to mind control, and have Teleport abilities through dimensions, space, and even time?
@princearagorn1: how?
A tier ahead of GR. Superior raw power capable of destroying planets and all.
@princearagorn1: yeah right.But this is SoV not Blaze, no amount of force could ko them.
And i disagree, he isn't a tier above GR.Unless of course you think hell lords are nothing which would be dumb.
@princearagorn1: yeah right.But this is SoV not Blaze, no amount of force could ko them.
Nlf. They hardly take country level attacks and walk away.
And i disagree, he isn't a tier above GR.Unless of course you think hell lords are nothing which would be dumb.
Based on what I've seen, thanos is a league ahead of GR.
@princearagorn1: nlf? They do regen from pure hell fire even when destroyed complelty, and a sky father empowered being like Zadkiel could not kill them as stated. Not could Mephisto kill Zarathos when he tried.
Hardly nlf.
