Ummmmm...that happened in a non-canon children's comic. But by your logic then Thanos trumps Darkseid. I mean Darkseid got beat up by two thugs with a chain, it took Spider Man to take down Thanos, and two cops to arrest him. And by that same logic Etrigan should stomp Darkseid as well.

It could be a fairly close battle.  Thanos is by no means a jobber, no matter what the first half of the comments on this thread say.  But Etrigan is hardcore too.  I'd honestly say it's about 50/50. Etrigan may take it because Thanos may be somewhat less prepared for a battle regarding magic, but I wouldn't count on that.

it would be a awesome fight regardless of the outcome (i can't choose i like both)

i want to say etrigan badly,but i think i might have to go with thanos.....because it looks like a darkseid (thanos) vs silver surfer (etrigan),so thanos cosmic stomps

@Floopay: While I agree that using the NYPD example is bad, it should be noted that Darkseid was depowered in the mugging incident and that the book is not only Pre-Crisis but was never in continuity.

Anyway, Thanos is roughly as powerful as Darkseid so the Mad Titan wins. Etrigan is Lobo level.

Actually, he's studied magic/sorcery for a few centuries, so, no, not really, as far as being unprepared for someone like Etrigan.

@The_Last_Son_of_Czarnia: actually he is really low on lobo level,compared to thanos lobo loses,but he cannot defeat lobo (well actually he can,but no matter what he does lobo will come back) and if lobo has that blood cloning trick than i say lobo can really pull it off,but again i feel that thanos,after a bit of a lengthy fight will beat etrigan,but he is a high level sorcerer as well (etrigan)

I put Etrigan between Superman and Darkseid, to be honest, so I doubt he could beat Thanos.

Thanos w/ease. Etrigan was having problems dealing w/Blue Devil.... I personally can't think of a single thing Etrigan has ever done to warrant him even being in the ring with ol prune chin.

@First_Last: While I agree that Thanos is on another level than Etrigan, the Blue Devil problems are lows for Etrigan. Normally he's Lobo/Wonder Woman level.

@The_Last_Son_of_Czarnia: I don't know if I would consider it low end for Etty as much as high end for Blue Devil. Yes and that still leaves him completely outclassed here imo.

@First_Last: Etrigan can punch someone to the moon. I doubt Blue Devil is that strong.

@The_Last_Son_of_Czarnia: Don't get me wrong I agree Etty is or at least should be Devils superior. I'm just saying that I don't think is was an absolute horrible showing for Etrigan. It was just one of if not Devils best showing imo.

Thanos should win hands down.. Thanos could probably turn him back into a kid again.

Thanos has tanked blasts from Odin, gone punch for punch with a power gem amped Thor until Thanos got bored, gone toe to toe in a punch out against Thor and Hulk at the same time. His blasts can knock Galactus halfway around a planet and his energy projection is enough to stop a power gem amped Champion in his tracks. Thanos would kill Etrigan.

At first I was like demon, but after thinking about it thanos would win this.

Thanos no prep is highly underestimated, he can beat hulk and Thor, he can take this. He wins.

Thanos wins almost without effort. Being a very feared threat for the Cosmic Entities puts you on a total different lvl. He's one of the most brilliant minds in the Marvel Universe and one of the most versatile characters in comics. Thanos is way above Etrigans league. And those scans actually work, its something to demonstrate how powerful Thanos can be without the gems. Don't expect Thanos vs. Etrigan scans because it has never happened.

I know Thanos is favorite.. And the dominant one in this fight... But this not a stomp.. This is hard as hell for Thanos

its amazing what you see from blatantly biased debaters, how could any one think etrigan could stand against thanos? the guy is like a mystic superman, not a low tier cosmic entity like thanos... this battle is silly

Nice battle, but Etrigan, based on his feats, should be about the level of a high-end Herald. He is a nice foe for superman though, mainly because of Supes vulnerability to magic. He have really impressive feats, but not the level of Surfer's or Thor's ones for example, but doesn't matter, this thread is from 5 years ago and Thanos got some nice showings since then, like shutting up Blackbolt's mouth with just one hand and ignoring the damage from a pissed off (And clearly going for a kill) Thor. Nevertheless, I would read this battle.
