Which Team wins, and why?

Fernus > Despero. Though I do not think the same would hold true of Martian Manhunter.

It's a toss-up. Despero can mind-rape Martian Manhunter (not Fernus) and H'el rather quickly, however Fernus has an army of sentient fire clones which can bide for time.

Reason for this?

@frozen: In your opinion, how are they going to deal with Thanos, when it has been shown; that TP is almost useless against his mind.

Despero mind rapes MMH and H'El while Thanos deals with Fernus, then it is Thanos and Despero vs Fernus and they win.

Even tho Despero will not be able to mind rape Fernus, I don't see Fernus mind raping Despero either.

More impressive.

Slaughtered the 35 odd White Martians in the Phantom Zone, despite them already having found ways around their weakness to fire (one White Martian could give a single League member trouble so they were not fodder). He trashed the Justice League in a more impressive fashion on three occasions, and also at much quicker time. His telepathy was also less restricted. IIRC Fernus made the Arkham inmates sane effortlessly whereas J'onn struggled to do so in a similar situation.

Why?

Fernus has better feats than Despero.

@reaverlation: Fernus is different, or atleast is written to be. Martian Manhunter with effort required, got The Joker sane for a while. Comparatively, Fernus made every inmate in Arkham Asylum sane.

I should have time for that this WE if nobody answer to you before. But, from the top of my head, in Guardian of the Galaxy, just before Thanos imperative, Thanos was very weak, just came back from Death, and cosmo+Mantis+Moondragon had issue to control him. Then they quickly lost him.

Another interesting feat, Moondragon with the mind gem found out that he was immune to TP.

Thanos uses his pimp hand on Manhunter and Fernus whilst they try and TP him. Meanwhile, Despero beats H'el.

Aside from that:

• Fernus trashed the Justice League at-least three times and he was much more impressive than Despero in JLA/JSA: Virture and Vice
• Fernus slaughtered 35 White Martians in the space of a minute; not only had the White Martians gained a resistance against fire, but an individual White Martian gave the League problems
• Fernus has sufficient phasing abilities
• A morals-off J'onn has already fought members of the JLA and certainly was not as impressive as Fernus
• Fernus can create a sentient fire clone army, can J'onn do that?

Fernus also has his separate ComicVine page, if that counts for anything. But it's clear Fernus was written differently.

Fernus isn't more powerful than Martian Manhunter

Can a blood-lusted Martian Manhunter create a sentient fire clone army? I think not. That is one clear difference because J'onn does not even have that power. A morals-off Martian Manhunter has already fought members of the League (when his brother took control of him) and he was nowhere near as impressive as Fernus; we then have Fernus performing much better in telepathy.

Fernus trashes Despero; in all likelihood he phases Despero's heart or brain out; or phases for a KO.

The point stands, Fernus is more impressive than Despero.

Based on feats, he is.

I previously took the opposite stand but that's not the case based on feats.

You refer to when he ripped his molecules? Fernus must have been weakened because if not I call B.S. That would mean that J'onn was multiple times more powerful than Fernus if he disposed of a full-power Fernus with ease, and it does not add up because comparatively, J'onn has not been as impressive as Fernus.

Malefic had his telepathy taken away from him, he's not as adept as J'onn is. As proven when J'onn stomped him in a telepathic battle.

You're forgetting how they dealt with fire. By beating the heroes with their speed and stealth before they could use it e.g destroying the RPG with Martian vision after Superboy fired it and destroying the launcher after he used it. They didn't suddenly gain an immunity to fire. Just being in Fernus' presence made J'onn fall his to knees in pain, the same thing would have happened to the White Martians.

That's how he has children, it's not a new level of power. And it's not like he can pop them out at will. He needs the psychic suffering of others combined with an inferno. Something he can't do on his own.
