Didn't Tony Stark come up with a way to stop or contain the entire Phoenix force in Avengers vs Xmen? If the answer is yes, then this team can do it also. I didn't read the issues so i'm not sure if it worked or not.

Regardless any amount of power can be siphoned or negated. With prep they clear this

They stop at Dormammu....

#5 Posted by Nightflash (708 posts) - 4 months, 16 days ago - Show Bio

@pooty: He did come up with a plan but it involved Wanda and Hope who both had unique special powers Chaos Magic posessed by Wanda and Hope had that dragons powers. They were the only ones who could harm the phoenix. Darkseid and Thanos powers are still powerfull enough to harm it but not win.

Yeah They stop there. Galactus could be handled with 3 weeks of Prep.

#10 Posted by pooty (7781 posts) - 4 months, 16 days ago - Show Bio

@Nightflash: Thanks for clearing that up.

@laflux: @mk111: They still clear it. Remember Dr. Doom stole Galactus power AND Beyonder's power in just few days. Hank Pym was able to negate Asgardian Magic. Dark Phoenix is not as powerful as the Phoenix host. Point is: power can be stolen, negated and contained. With 3 weeks prep, these 2 prep masters could defeat all of these guys IMO.

Or Thanos just makes a big a$$ gun like Shiar Empire did, or Tony Stark did recently and shoot her with it :p

@pooty: i don't think that he actually stole the Beyonders power, i think that the Beyonder tricked Doom into believing that he stole his power. It was to teach him a lesson or something?

But i agree, they clear it

I have heard that theory before. I don't know if it was a dream or real. Do you have the scans where it says what really happened?

#16 Posted by CalebHara (1945 posts) - 4 months, 16 days ago - Show Bio

@pooty: unfortunately not at the moment, but I've heard it before, just as you have. It just makes sense to me, The power of the Beyonder is greater than that of the multiverse itself, i just don't see how Doom could capture that with a simple device. Also, if Doom actually had that immense power, then how did he lose it? it just confuses me lol.

#17 Posted by Killemall (13430 posts) - 4 months, 16 days ago - Show Bio

Not sure what Beyonder power being greater than multiverse had anything to do in regards to Dr. Doom stealing his powers, Dr. Doom has always stolen powers above his pay grade, thats what he does.

#18 Posted by pooty (7781 posts) - 4 months, 16 days ago - Show Bio

@CalebHara: I NEVER liked that a machine could absorb all the power in the universe.....but it's comics so i let it slide. And he lost the power the same way he got it....plot device. lol

@Killemall: but i have heard that Beyonder let doom steal the power. is that stated anywhere? is it even implied anywhere? I can't remember.

No idea, but it was blatantly stupid if it was ever stated as it makes absolutely no sense.

It was a different era of comics where things didn't need to make sense as there biggest audience was young teens and children and those that didn't like it only had at best a handful of people they could discuss it with, nowadays Doom needs a better explanation than he found it down the back of the sofa for his anti-god gun.

#25 Posted by czarny_samael666 (13789 posts) - 4 months, 16 days ago - Show Bio

In the past Thanos was able to create poison that affected Odin. So they have some chance against him, but problem is - how they will give it to him without plot behind them?
And actually I dout that they will take out DP Tyrant.

#26 Posted by Dredeuced (2797 posts) - 4 months, 15 days ago - Show Bio

Eh, give Thanos prep and sometimes he'll just pop up with the HOTU or IG. Conventional wisdom assumes if they come up with an idea, it will work, and 3 weeks usually is enough. Especially since these guys are from both universes, and thus there's not an opponent on the list they're not atleast well educated on.

Dormammu, unless Odin was amped they should be able to beat him.

Thanos is the strongest foe that Odin faced in a long time and he was struggling against Thanos alone. Thanos and Darkseid should beat him quite handily

@whydama: Odin arguably had difficulty dealing lasting damage to Thanos. However, Thanos dealt NO lasting damage to Odin. Also, I don't remember Darkseid ever doling significant damage to someone of Odin's caliber either.

Those points being considered, it's at least a stalemate(which means the team would stop there).

#39 Posted by whydama (1093 posts) - 4 months, 4 days ago - Show Bio

@XiiX:

Darkseid's bomb killed the Limbo Cell, a cosmic entity. With prep he could pull the same feat. It was Elseworlds, but it was a solid assessment of Darkseid's capability.

#40 Posted by XiiX (2358 posts) - 4 months, 4 days ago - Show Bio

@whydama: Ah. I missed the "prep" detail. Then since they get a relatively generous amount of prep time, I could see them making it to the final round(if not clearing).

I agree with this.

Thanos and Darkseid have an immense amount of resources to prep with.

To tell you the truth, I don't think it's possible to beat Thanos and Darkseid if they have prep. lol

#42 Posted by RogueJuggernaut (92 posts) - 4 months, 4 days ago - Show Bio

They can beat them all after 3 weeks.

#43 Posted by CalebHara (1945 posts) - 4 months, 4 days ago - Show Bio

no it was never stated, at least not in all issues where Beyonder appeared. but it was mentionned in the classic anime of Spider Man.

they stop at 3.
