Azula or Ghazan.
Tenzin runs the gauntlet
@silentbat: yeah, caught with no indication of being able to get out. She was panicked. Katara was ready to smash her before Zuko intervened. Might not have been an absolute conclusion, but it was very clear who had the advantage, especially since Azula wasn't able to land a hit on Katara
@highaccuser: any reasons?

I don't know if he has the feats to tag Azula or keep her from getting up close and she's already knocked down Aang before. Ghazan he really can't hurt and he can't avoid the quantities of lava Ghazan can use if he's serious.
True, she did pin down Aang in the 3 way fight, but at the same time that Aang was sleep deprived, and all he was doing in that fight was evading. Tenzin does have air spouts, could be useful in evading lava

But there was also Zuko who was mainly focused on Azula so I'd say it balances out.
But those don't last forever and I don't think Tenzin can break his earth walls.
True, even so, Aang evaded or blocked many of her attacks-all until she sliced the building under him. It's not like she could easily pin him down. If he had actually attacked Azula might never have had that chance
He's only used it once, which doesn't help figure out how long he can keep it up (he hadn't reached his limit or anything when he came down). Ghazan doesn't tend to use large earth shields, Tenzin could arguably work around them
Round 7 is the strongest match-up.
The Last Airbender feats and chars >> The Legend of Korra feats and chars
And Tenzin stops at 7..

That's a big over-generalization that's hardly true
Gauntlet is out of order
How so?
Interestingly enough, I have not given my analysis to this yet, though I could've deleted it..
I think a morals-off Tenzin, because I don't see morals on making any sense here for most of these characters if not all in an actual battle, wins all the way up to 9 or clears. I'd say a master airbender is more dangerous than a lava-bender. I also feel Tenzin is durable and strong, tanking attacks from the Red Lotus at the same time (w/o P'Li but still) and he's one-shotted anti-elemental mech's which was great. He's also done his air spiral which is a master earth-bending move and has also done a spinning vortex of airbending, a new take on Aang's air-orb. From his feats combined that's what I think. And Mako & Bolin should be above Azula & Mako, but I think @arcus put it like that when the series was still going on.
Round 1: Amon's Lieutenant ... Tenzin wins solid majority.
Round 2: Mako (no lightning) ... Tenzin wins majority.
Round 3: Bolin ... I'm assuming with Lava ... Still, Tenzin wins majority.
Round 4: Azula (sane) ... Ooo ... he might stop here.
Round 5: Ghazan ... Tenzin wins majority.
Round 6: Mako and Bolin ... Tenzin wins slight majority.
Round 7: Azula and Zuko ... Tenzin loses solid majority, though not a stomp.
Round 8: Ming Hua and Ghazan ... Tenzin loses solid majority, but he'd put up a hell of a fight just like he did at the Northern Temple.
Round 9: P'li and Zaheer (no flight) ... Tenzin loses majority, but again, a good fight.
these. Well said SilentBat
@thunderbolt30: :c Y u no quote me 12000-posts-master.
Round 1: Amon's Lieutenant: Tenzin stomps.
Round 2: Mako (no lightning): Tenzin destroys him, maybe not a stomp.
Round 3: Bolin: Tenzin easily.
Round 4: Azula (sane): Tenzin, mid-dif.
Round 5: Ghazan: Tenzin, mid-dif.
Round 6: Mako and Bolin: Probably stops. Mako and Bolin have perfect teamwork, good power, and good versatility.
Round 7: Azula and Zuko: Probably stops. If he were bloodlusted I'd favor him.
Round 8: Ming Hua and Ghazan: Hard stop, bloodlust or no. Ming Hua alone is debatable.
Round 9: P'li and Zaheer (no flight): P'li could solo, Zaheer seals the win.
The soft stop is at six, the hard stop is at eight.

Round 1: Amon's Lieutenant - Stomps
Round 2: Mako (no lightning) - Stomps
Round 3: Bolin - Stomps
Round 4: Azula (sane) - Could arguably stop, but I don't see it, he wins with extreme dif
Round 5: Ghazan - Wins mid dif
Round 6: Mako and Bolin - Loses a majority
Round 7: Azula and Zuko - Gets stomped
Round 8: Ming Hua and Ghazan - Loses hard, Ming Hua could potentlly solo but I don't think so
Round 9: P'li and Zaheer (no flight) - Near Stomps, P'Li is nearly a cakewalk while Zaheer is a non-factor
How far can he make it?
That's completely out of order though.
