These two waterbenders have come together to determine who has the greatest waterbending family. Who will win?

Fight takes place in the North Pole. Starting distance is 30 feet. Victory by ko or death. It is night with a full moon, but no bloodbending.

Everyone is in character but completely serious.

Which team wins?

Bonus Round:

(If Katara's team loses the fight) Katara has recruited Hama to join her team and challenged Unalaq to a rematch. Same conditions. Who wins?

I don't see how this isn't a stomp for team 2.

What makes it a stomp?

Yea. Team 2,stomps...... numbers are a disadvantage but Kya hasn't been shown to be as competent as even the twins.

Kya didn't get one-shotted by Ming Hua...

But if you guys think this is too much of a stomp I could add someone to Katara's team

True but their other showings balance that fight out. Kya can't take them based on what we've seen....give them an extra body at least

@koays: imo part of the reason they might look better is because we've usually seen the twins with a large supply of water (poles, ocean) which makes waterbenders look amazing, while we've only ever seen Kya with a smaller amount of water

@arcus: Thats definitely true. But putting what we know for sure the twins can do in the North/south poles against what we've seen Kya do in fights and it's hard to argue against them. We'd have to hope Kya is better then we've seen.

@koays: so you don't think Katara and Pakku are good enough to make up for Kya?

Team 1, barely

Why do you think team 1? Any counters for the people saying team 2?

katara and pakku are good, but kya is the weak link here. i dont think they can out bend unalaq and the twins

@arcus: I think once Kya get's beaten, Katara's tough but obvious win against Tonraq will get reversed do to numbers advantage. Unalaq and Pakkun are arguably equal but he can't fight against him and the others. Katara and Pakkun's only chance is to hold their ground and try not to get overwhelmed by four powerful benders...2 of whom are very fast and a 3rd who likes large scale attacks.

@arcus: WITH Hama. I give the edge to team Katara. What little we've scene of Hama shows that she's a fast bender and that's all it would take to drag out the fight till Katara takes out Tonraq. Then the numbers are in Team 1's favor.

Team 2 due to numbers advantage and Eska and Desna being better than Kya(well at least to me).

For bonus round, probably Team 1.

hama was a powerful water bender, but her main talent lied in bloodbending and pulling water from other sources, like trees and flowers. she might turn the tied in that team 2 will be out numbered, so i give the bonus round to teak katara in a tough fight (6/10)

Obviously that's all debatable but I wouldn't call it a stomp.

Team2 cuz unalaq can use spirits and numbers are not even.

On other case where hama join team1, then teams are like

Team1, 3master lvl+1adept

Team2, 3master lvl(the twin combined)

I go for team 1

IMO Unlaq is legitimately the best waterbending portrayed in the series, and Tonraq is right behind him, while he lacks his brother skill and speed, his durability, persistence and well, somewhat lack of morals makes of for it. The twin together are in the same league with Tonraq.

Team One's water bending seems more basic simple, and far less effective and lethal.

@thatguywithheadphones: no one here has used lethal waterbending so...yeah. What do you think puts Tonraq above Katara and Pakku? @keidecifer: there aren't any spirits

Tonraq < Katara ( in a good fight )

Eska and Desna > Kya

This is how I see it. Once Ezka & Desna make a fairly quick job of Kya, they help out team Unalaq and win.

Bonus round i feel MITE go to team 1 if hama is as good as kinda portrayed we never really seen much of her honestly, so i can't say for sure.

@z___: what makes you think Desna and Eska will finish Kya so easily? @keidecifer: yeah, but Eska and Desna haven't really shown any individual feats, they're always working together. And it's not like they always overpower master benders by working together-look at their fight with Ming Hua

Replace Kya with Huu, she justs has very few low-end feats and hasn't actually won a fight in the show.

@jacthripper: Huu would unbalance the teams too much imo, Eska and Desna haven't actually won a fight either. They got one shorted by Ming Hua, while Kya was able to put up a fight and even land a solid hit

It could go either way really. Kya and Tonraq have both taken on Zaheer at one point and have both lost but held their own for a bit. Katara can stall Unalaq while Tonraq and Kya can duke it out to maybe a near stalemate while Pakku takes out the twins. Then he gangs Unalaq or Tonraq and then the numbers will be in Team 2's favor. OR . The twins go for Kya and take her out eventually. She is more skilled and experienced than Eska and Desna individually, but 2 against 1...she will tire out sooner or later. Pakku can take down Tonraq while Katara stalls Unalaq again. Then the twins may gang Katara and then Pakku. Thats what I think lol. Majority goes to Team 1

@arcus: ming hua is too much for the twins even for kya and kya can't do the same what ming hua did to the twins . So numbers still the odds here. Add 1 lesser waterbender in team1 or sokka (even he's not bender . The ATLA book3 end sokka) then hama is not needed here ^^.

This is a pretty close fight. I can't decide.

Though I will say I feel Kya is more capable than the twins by a fair margin. The biggest indicator was that the twins were effortlessly dealt with by Ming Hua in literally 16 seconds, while Kya was able to hold her own against Ming Hua for a couple minutes before being worn down. Kya's showing against Zaheer wasn't bad either. Zaheer was a Red Lotus master, and even if he wasn't a true airbending master on Tenzin's level he was still a master combatant.

Team 2's real power is in the form of Unalaq and Tonraq. I've mentioned before how I feel they would make a very powerful duo. Tonraq's waterbending is pretty strong but his real power is in his physical strength. If he gets into melee range of anyone on team 1 I'm pretty sure he'd come out on top pretty quickly, and Unalaq is skilled enough as a ranged waterbender to support his brother and make sure he gets into melee range.

Nice thoughts, even if you don't have a winner

It's definitely close, but i gotta go with team 2.
