Could this be the end of the unstoppable Team GREEN? Will MM wet his pants when he sees Firelord? Will Sentry try to break Hulk's fists with his face once again? Tune in to find out.

Team GREEN: Hal Jordan, Martian Manhunter, World War Hulk

VS

Team YELLOW: Sinestro, Firelord, Sentry

............

No morals, everyone bloodlusted, no prep, to the death. Battle takes place on deserted Earth-like planet, teams start 10m apart.

Everyone starts with basic knowledge of their own teammates, but no knowledge of opposing team members.

@venomoushatred1001: Why would he? You said he solos, so explain how he would accomplish that, and I will simply refute it afterwards.

Through telepathy and brute strength. Plus its almost impossible for any of them to put him down due to his healing factor. I just don't see how any of them could put him down.

@venomoushatred1001: Sinestro along with any remotely competent Lantern is immune to telepathic assault. Sinestro has withstood repeated hits from Mongul II and shrugged off the power of the White Light against the Weaponer, why would J'onn's brute strength necessarily put him down for the count? I'm not even arguing if they can put him down or not. I'm saying he isn't soloing because, regardless of outcome, Sinestro will occupy him for quite a while.

Hmm, I see. I'm still going with Green team. MM and Hal is still too much. I don't know why WWH is here.

If J'onn still weak to fire i say team yellow in a close fight...if not, then i say it could go either way, but I'm picking team yellow in an even closer match.

Martain Manhunter, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, & World War Hulk Take This.

#11 Posted by pooty (8038 posts) - 1 year, 2 months ago - Show Bio

@WillPayton: @jojjimbo: This is really 4 vs 2. MM immediately convinces Sentry to side with his team with TP. I mean Iron Man and Osborn got into Sentry mind with mind tricks and they have no TP. Imagine what MM will do. TP and magic make battles unfair unless both teams have it.

@jojjimbo: MM knows he is immune to fire but i don't think the fear is completely out of his head.

Sentry has TP, and being bloodlusted I'm not sure MM can do what you're saying he'd do.

Also, I believe the ring gives Sinestro TP resistance. As far as Firelord, doesnt he also have TP resistance? And Sentry's TP abilities should help him against MM

#13 Posted by pooty (8038 posts) - 1 year, 2 months ago - Show Bio

@WillPayton: Sentry has TP? WHen has he used it?

#14 Posted by vuviper (5530 posts) - 1 year, 2 months ago - Show Bio

@Morpheus_: I was going to assume Sinestro would be protected from TP by his ring because GL rings do that, I wonder though if there are any actual examples of the yellow rings doing the same.

@vuviper: All lantern rings do pretty much the same thing. I'm fairly certain that yellow rings have TP resistance.

Not really red rings still don't really make constructs, they all seem to be getting unique powers

I think the Red ring thing sort of comes down to them being crazy more then anything else. They don't really make constructs because of how chaotic they are.

Blue Rings and Violet Rings have also displayed different powersets than the Green, though Yellow rings DO seem to share the most similarity with Green

Yes but the differences aren't that large. Except maybe with the exception of the Indigo tribe.

Also Yellow-Green seems to have the most similarities. Probably because of them being the first and they were meant to be similar.

Sentry never uses his telepathy in combat situations to my knowledge, so I have no idea why it's being brought up.

Anyways, Team Green can feasibly win, although this battle is closer than the previous ones involving WWH, Hal, and J'onn.

TP assaults from weaklings like Hammond,I'd say Martian breaks his fingers.Mongul curbstomped him,he was completely butchered in that fight.

Sentry has used his telepathy a grand total of once, against the Super-Adaptoid, and even then it wasn't conventional telepathy. The Adaptoid had copied his powers, and so Sentry messed her up by pulling out the Void that she would have copied along with the Sentry. A tactic like that wouldn't work on any one else.

This battle features the Sentry without Morals and Bloodlusted which means this is really the Void, who should roflstomp here. Even failing the Void showing up, the Power Cosmic should shield Firelord from MMH like it does the Silver Surfer. Given that, what keeps Firelord from using cosmic flame to just incinerate MMH?

Sinestro and Sentry would simply thrash their counterparts Hal and WWH.

Not all heralds have Surfers TP immunity, Thanos was able to control Fallen One. And Firelord would need Psychic Flames to exploit J'onn's weakness

Void and Sentry are two separate entities. Team Green can win this in a CLOSE one.

@WillPayton: It's from JLA v2 #72. It's technically not canon, taking place in an alternate reality. I just thought it was funny.

You know, I hope that Green Team is a good example of how powerful Manhunter is. Despite having the handicap of Hulk (who can't fly) on their team, they still are the victors every time, without to much debate.

Hammond affected Hal on several occasions. Even while Hal was a veteran he required to enhance his ring's potective field to remain unaffected. Mongul did not curbstomp him, Sinestro was not fighting back and only let him do that so he could override the rings. Also, I mentioned that to demonstrate how a Superman level character in terms of strength could not put Sinestro down in spite of repeatedly unleashing on him, not to say Sinestro was winning the fight.

@vuviper: I honestly don't recall him facing a telepath without wearing a GL ring.

Green team takes the win.

MM could easily either mindrape Sentry or easily overpower him physically. World War Hulk pounds Firelord into submission and Hal vs Sinestro could go either way.

Mongul was toying with him,he could have finished Sinestro anytime he wanted.Sinestro was obviously trying to fight back to no avail, and Hammond is a joke compared to MM.

#39 Posted by Morpheus_ (29872 posts) - 1 year, 2 months ago - Show Bio
@entropy_aegis: I wasn't seeing him toying with him. He was pummeling him mercilessly. The only part Mongul held back was when he grabbed Sinestro's head in an attempt for the coup de grace. Sinestro was not fighting back, either. When the other Lanterns tried to help him he used his ring to cast them aside, but did not use his ring at all against Mongul. He wasn't overwhelmed, he simply wasn't fighting back for the greatest part of the fight. In part because he realized the truth in Mongul's words about his failure in multiple aspects of his life, IMO.

Hammond might be a joke in comparison to J'onn, but he's the only telepath we have seen Sinestro face and Sinestro Corps rings were documented to have the same capabilities as GL rings. It's not exactly a leap in logic to say he could screen himself.

The way Johns is writing him these days, a rematch wouldn't be very good for Mongul.

@entropy_aegis: It's not so much what he has done, it's that Johns writes him as the archetype of the best Lantern who ever lived. It's almost Mary Sue-ish. He can utilize the ring in ways supposedly no one else can, from color alteration to vast ring replication (he created hundreds of rings at once for the Korugarians) to breaking the ring twice out of sheer willpower, something Hal deemed impossible.
