Lore

Infinity has begun, and the Mad Titan Thanos’ crusade on Earth-Realm with it. He has brought to the table all the forces of evil –this is their last stand, and they WILL go down fighting. But good isn’t going down easy either; the two sides will clash, once and for all. Every character from fiction, good or evil, is involved in the conflict…

…every character, that is, except for you.

You…

...you are a Planeswalker, an incredibly powerful multidimensional mage. Ripples from a shocked future reach you and the others of your oder; should the two forces clash, they will annihilate…everything. Nothing will be left. But few among them know, and fewer care. They have fought since time immemorial, and most who know are determined to take the secret with them to the grave.

You, however, cannot let that happen.

There is but one thing that can stop this madness. Your quest does not concern any fictional land –it concerns the very heart of humanity itself, in the fabric of the fourth wall.

Your quest…

…lies in Memoriam, where anything mankind believes in or remembers or thinks of becomes real. Every fiction that ever was and every fiction that ever could be is rooted In Memoriam –and if you can simply get to the Heart of Man, you can stop all of this.

Of course, your fellow Planeswalkers have felt the ripples –and, unlike you, their hearts are most certainly not pure. They want the Heart of Man for the blanket omnipotence it confers upon them. You, of course, do not! Regardless, you will have to scrounge up allies to protect you as you quest for the Heart of Man.

Limits

Unfortunately, the Avatar of Memoriam will not permit anyone or anything he considers a threat into Memoriam –indeed, there are quite severe limitations.

These are their MAXIMUM limitations. Which means you can't pick someone with Mach 1 speed, and give him an item that lets him temporarily triple his speed. Or a character with 3 ton strength who can boost himself to 5 ton strength. You also cannot artificially limit them, such as choosing Superman and nerfing him down.

Team Size: Five, four with the 'One Hand Tied' perk.

Sources: I don't care, but they have to have a reasonable amount of feats. Not a one shot wonders or featless characters with assumed feats. Can be from fanfiction as long as they fit and the fanfiction is popular. Can have the same character.

Strength Limit: 20 tons

Combat/Transverse Speed Limit: Mach 5

Reflexes Limit: Can react to objects moving at Mach 10, but no higher.

Durability Limit:

  • · Base Durability: Laughs at bullets
  • · Extended Durability: Laughs at grenades
  • · Intangibility: Cannot become completely immune to attacks. And no rematerialization kills. Which means nobody who can stick their hand into someone's head and auto-kill. But you can pick a character who can phase through solid objects and attacks, but they have to be susceptible to attack in this state.
  • · Regeneration: If I could stick them with a knife over and over again and they didn't respond, only regenerated, and they wouldn't die, they're out.

Destructive Capability Limit: Building-buster. Also Cyborg Guardian or anyone of the sort who, while not necessarily destructive, can do crazy things like one-shotting Galactus, is not allowed (looking at you beatboks1).

Telepathy Limit: Read Below

  • · Power Limit: Can only be used for mind reading or mild body control; think Bloodbending from Avatar or the Imperius Curse from Harry Potter.
  • · Maximum Distance: 100 Meters (300 Feet)
  • · Maximum People who can be affected simultaneously (Offensively): 1 person. This means you cannot mentally assault teams, but you can mentally assault people one at a time.
  • · Maximum People who can be affected simultaneously (Defensively): No limit. If you want to put a powerful telepath on your team to protect your team against other telepaths, you go right ahead.

Various Power limits: Read Below

  • · Electrokinesis: Cole McGrath w/all powers
  • · Pyrokinesis: Fire Lord Sozin w/the Comet
  • · Cryokinesis: Iceman
  • · Technokinesis: Ultimate Iron Man’s weird buddy
  • · Energy-Projection: Car-destroying
  • · Telekinesis: Raven (Teen Titans)
  • · Teleportation: Blink (616)
  • · Magic Powers: Magic is limited. No reality-warping or otherwise overpowered abilities.
  • · Other Powers: Not sure? Ask!

Summoning/Duplications: Cannot summon anything that is outside of the tournament limits. Cannot double your team size or more with summons.

Gear Limit: Cannot choose characters who possess gear for sale. Plain and simple. Nobody could carry more than they could reasonable have on them without become encumbered. This includes backup ammo, and etc. Keep these things in mind, nothing is unlimited unless you can prove otherwise. Characters only get what they would normally carry, no one shot items, no bringing a team's worth of items. It's standard equipment.

Other Limits: Obviously I can't foresee every possible limit to put on a character. Be reasonable with your choices, and if you find a loophole and try to exploit it, I will remove that character and you'll be stuck with a team of 3. Not sure whether or not somebody is allowed or should be allowed? Ask me, just tag me in a post or send me a PM and I'll let you know, the character will be reserved as yours until I make a decision. This goes for the other side of the coin as well; if you feel a character is too much, tag me and the offender and we’ll see.

There are, of course, ways that you can get around this –you are a Planeswalker, for lords’ sake! And you have your own power, enough to transport in items of various power.

You get 40 Item Points for Equipment, and can gain more each round. This equipment will expire each round, and must be bought anew. On average, you should be spending 12-13 points per round, as you can gain more points. Oh, and one more restriction –any two characters must be able to be defeated by the rest of your team. Have fun thinking around that.

Characters get 1 month of training with their items. You may only use feats from the characters who possessed these items in their first month with them.

As well as 4 Perk Points. (PP) These stay with you for the duration of the tournament.

Each perk without a requirement is 1 point.

For the perks with a requirement (only such and such), this is the guide:

1 Requirement Perk - 1 PP

2 Requirement Perks - 2 PP

3 Requirement Perks - 2 PP

4 Requirement Perks - 3 PP

And everything above 4 is 3 PP as well.

. Bloodlust - Whoever made morals CLEARLY meant for them to be turned off. No character, nothing.

· Perfect Teamwork – No more pesky language barriers because you like both manga and comic books; no more hatred because you’ve got Captain America and Red Skull on the same team.

· Psychic Communication Links – Psychic comm links and regular comm links; what your team does, they do together, moving as one perfectly coordinated unit.

· Full Knowledge – It’s like Wikipedia, but better!

· The Goddamned Batman – 1 hour of prep. If your characters are from different universes/otherwise would not work together, prep must be split as per your liking.

· Letters to Hogwarts – Your team gains magic from the HP universe. This allows you to use the Elder Wand or a Wand, and also boosts your naked durability to the limit. Your team is also immune to fall damage or any other ‘accidental’ deaths. A flick from an ally is equivalent to a small caliber bullet from a gun.

· Takebacksies – You gain the ability to take back tactics or moves, adapting to your opponent.

· ‘Yer a Wizard, Harry – Choosing only magical characters gives you magic from the HP universe. . This allows you to use the Elder Wand or a Wand, and also boosts your naked durability to the limit. · You’re Dreaming – Choosing only Fantasy characters gives you 1 free item from D&D (that’s on the list)

. I'm the Goddamned Batman! - Choosing only Batman-related characters gives you 10 minutes of prep in the Batcave (any DC team will likely qualify for this)

· Uhh-vengers – Choosing only people who were Avengers earns you Ragnarok.

· Call me Cadence – Choosing only characters from the Terminators universe gives you whatever Terminators you don’t have yet.

· Titans Truculent – Choosing only Teen Titans/Young Justice members earns you Indigo.

· Fastest Man Alive – Choosing only characters who are at the Speed Limit gives you Speed Mind (Barry Allen) or Speed Steal (Wally West). Remember, you’ve only got a month to train, so only early feats are applicable.

· Weapon Ex – Choosing only Wolverine-related characters earns you a carbonadium melee weapon or ammunition for every team member. Any Marvel Team will likely qualify for this.

· Hulkin’ Out – Choosing only characters who are at the Strength Limit doubles the strength of your characters ONCE after one of your characters has been killed.

· Avatar Cycle – Choosing only characters with elemental manipulation grants you Korra from Legend of Korra, pre-Airbending.

· Images of Ikonn – Choosing only characters who have been willing to die for their cause grants each member of your team an Eldunari from Eragon.

· Every Color of the Rainbow – Choosing characters from different branches of fiction (anime, manga, comic books, books, movies, tv shows, cartoons, and poetry/myth/legend are the categories here) grants you Perfect Teamwork and Psychic Communication Links. You team will work as though they have worked together for years, and like a well-oiled machine.

· Esoteric – Choosing only characters from series I haven’t heard of grants you an extra character from a series I haven’t heard of. (fanfiction does not apply for this)

· Japan is Weird – Choosing all anime/manga characters earns you 1 year of training with your items.

· By the Gods! – Choosing only characters involved with religion (even as little as Mr. T, who just happens to be atheist) grants you the ability to deal damage to all characters as though they don’t have regeneration.

· Syfy is a Stupid Name – Choosing all science fiction characters earns you either 2 Xenomorphs, 2 T-800s, or 2 Borg Drones.

· May The Force Be With You – Choosing only Star Wars Characters gets you 5 ARC Troopers and 5 Lightsabres.

· One Hand Tied – Choosing only 4 members for your team grants you 1 extra Character Assist per round.

· Girl Power - Choosing only female characters earns you 25% off all female owned items, rounding applies. (EX: 1.5 = 2, 1.2 = 1)

Now, if you read all that, you’re doubtless wondering what Character Assists are (and if you’re not, then read it. Ya schmuck. Who do you think you are?).

Well, it's quite simple; in each location, you'll be one a different side of a conflict. Each round will have different character assists. Easy.

@thedarklordpandamonium: niiiiiiiiiice~ So, how legit is it for me to pick Gideon =P Oh geez, let me think and get back to you in the morning.

#7 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@dratini1331:

You obviously can't pick a planes walker in your team. BTW did I miss any?

#8 Edited by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Yaaaaay! :D

Wait, but do I have to compose a team of planeswalkers? And what the heck is a planeswalker??

#9 Posted by Dratini1331 (7040 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Dawww =P

If you're asking if the pic is missing planeswalkers, the answer is yes, because that pic came out with m-12 IIRC, so it's missing Venser for some reason, Tybalt, Tamiyo, Vraska, Domri, and Ral. They don't have any of all the walkers up yet I don't believe so it's hard to find one of them all XD.

Also, do you know who the one between Garruk and Koth is supposed to be (the merfolk looking one)?

#10 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@jokergeist:

Nonono, you have to choose a planeswalker.

And did you not read the lore? D:

#11 Posted by OmgOmgWtfWtf (7043 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Bah. It's been forever since I played Magic the Gathering.

Hmm, he's not on the list, but I pick this dude :P

File:Urza-MindOverMatter.gif

Are the new Planeswalker as strong as the classic ones?

#12 Posted by Dratini1331 (7040 posts) - - Show Bio

@jokergeist: DArn it JG, play some Magic: The Gathering >:| How dare you not be intimately familiar with my fandom lol.

They're what he described in the Lore section, Powerful multidimensional mages. You also cannot pick them because they all warp reality and most violate the magic limitations in general.

@thedarklordpandamonium: Your Tourny story reminds me of... what is it....

Thats it lol.

Ill play.

PW: Jura

Lucky #: 7

One Question, I cannot find team size...

#15 Posted by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Ooohhhhhhhh I have to actually READ the rules. Okay, gotcha.

In that case I'll take Koth. Because his name obviously stands for "King of the Hill" :D

#16 Posted by Dratini1331 (7040 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Also, do we pick one walker that represents us? Cause I'm gonna lay claim to Pre-mending Bolas...

@omgomgwtfwtf: new ones are weaker. They had a retcon similar to COIE, and so now all the walkers are massively depowered. They've gone from nigh-omnipotence to just being really, really good mages.

#17 Posted by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio

Also, I'll take Lucky #13 as well.

King of the Hill + #13 = Instant Domination!

#18 Edited by Pokergeist (22351 posts) - - Show Bio
#19 Edited by Dratini1331 (7040 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Ohyayayaya, I missed that part! I'm too tired for my own good, I'm sorry. I'm slamming with Bolas. Also, you left out Domri Rade, Tamiyo, Tybalt, and Ral Zarek from modern walkers.

And I'll take number 73. Why? Because I want to mess with the OCD people who want meaning in numbers.

#24 Edited by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

Team size is five, four with one hand tied -sorry all!

Your planeswalkers and lucky numbers have been recorded.

#25 Edited by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@dratini1331:

The Merfolk one is Kiora Atua.

@jokergeist:

Wow...the combination of Koth and 13 is really potent and ties into your nickname for him, I am impressed.

#26 Edited by Funsiized (3726 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Then my team shall be:

New 52 Wonder Girl w/ silent armor, Her lasso.(comics)

Chiffon Fairchild w/ armed with her badassness.(manhwa)

Arya Shadeslayer w/eldunari, Tamerlain, Bow 30 arrows.(book)

Agent Tex from RvB w/sniper 2 clips, and an assault rifle 2 clips, and finally a pistol 3 clips(Web show)

So that should get me the Girl Power and Every color of the rainbow, as well as on hand tied and ill take Bloodlust and Takebacksies

ill edit in my items later, or can i just wait for the actual tourny?

Edit: The items i pick are:

Admantium Ammunition(2)-Tex

Ring of Shocking(1)-Wonder Girl

Battle Computer(7)-Chiffon

4 Trained Wolves(1)-...Arya?

Ring of Free Movement(1)-Chiffon

total=12

#28 Edited by nickzambuto (14958 posts) - - Show Bio

This is pretty damn complex to say the least :P

#29 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@cadencev2: @funsiized:

Oh god I totally goofed

Guys, your items are lost every round and there will be four so on average look to spend 12-13 points per round (you can get more)

Also remember team size is five unless you take one hand tied, and you have to make an attempt at taking out members of the person above you CADENCE

#30 Posted by Funsiized (3726 posts) - - Show Bio
#31 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@funsiized:

You can't wait; you post how many points you want to use and after the round has been posted you can use up to five more.

#32 Posted by Funsiized (3726 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: So do i need to state the items im buying? or simply the amount of points? if so ill just edit in the amount im spending

#33 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@funsiized:

Have to pick the items. Each map will drastically alter what items you might need (for example a possible round map is inside a volcano where each team has their own dragon and acts as chess pieces for the dragon).

#34 Posted by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio
#35 Posted by Funsiized (3726 posts) - - Show Bio
#36 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@jokergeist: Need to state it still

@funsiized: gotta say who gets what

@cadencev2: You have to state which item goes to which character, so you can follow the 'any 2 characters could be beat by the rest of your team' restriction. And you haven't even made an attempt at funsiized yet! And you need to list perks!

#37 Edited by Pokergeist (22351 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium:

Actually I like Vol.

Lucky 7 as my Number.

Team:

Liara (Omni Tool, Kinetic Shields, Body Armor, Carnifex Pistol)

Roland of Gilead (Dark Tower Revolvers, Skolpadda, Billy Bumbler, Money Bag, Knife, Demon Jawbone)

Randal Flagg (Pink Sphere, Poisons, Seeing Crystal, Crossbow, 50 Ravens)

Spawn Second Metamorphosis (Laser Cannons)

(15) SoK's Gun w/one shot (Roland)

Full Knowledge – It’s like Wikipedia, but better!

Syfy is a Stupid Name – Choosing all science fiction characters earns you 2 T-800s.

How does the Team Perk work? Do i lose Perk Points after the round and have to buy Team perks every round like the Item points?

#38 Posted by Funsiized (3726 posts) - - Show Bio
#39 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@cadencev2:

No that only applies to item points.

You still have a perk point left.

You haven't said what item goes to who.

You haven't made an attempts against funsiized.

Also I am offended you didn't go for the team perm named after you.

#40 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@funsiized:

You have a perk point left as 3 requirement perks are only 2 points.

And we'll have to wait and see if cadencev2 thinks your team qualifies or if he thinks two members if your team could beat the other two

#41 Posted by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio
#42 Edited by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@jokergeist:

*nonplussed*

How about I just reveal your LN 13 functions, eh? Make an example out of you?

13 - Cain's Doom

If LN 31 Abel's Doom is not on the playing field and all players have less than half their allies remaining: Destroy your allies and one member of your opponent(s) team(s), then summon this Number to the field in the form of the 0-point character assist Cain's Doom

And here's your Planeswalker Koth:

Points 3, one action per round

+1 Mountain Swallow - If the field is mountainous, remove an opponent from play and an ally from play; they return when an opponent is killed or when an ally is killed

-2 Hammercry - Stun an opponent; they become un-stunned after one minute and stun an ally; they become un-stunned when attacked

-6 Mountain Emblem - Raise a mountain from the earth; while on it each blow stuns for one second and all speed is reduced to the level of the slowest character

#43 Posted by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: What.. the-?

This tournament is too complicated! I drop out :'(

I don't speak "Magic" or whatever the language is called :O Sowwy

#44 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@jokergeist:

I'm kidding.

XD

Why on earth would I reveal what your secret perks do? :P

#45 Posted by Jokergeist (4935 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium: Because you love me? :O

Am I allowed to bring in a character who's standard gear is his robotic minions, and count them as "summons," so they'll apply to the Summoning/Duplicates rule?

#46 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio
#47 Edited by Juiceboks (10795 posts) - - Show Bio

This all seems very well put together and the lore is pretty interesting, but alas I may have to pass :/ . My Magic: Gathering knowledge is virtually nonexistent and it would be almost impossible to effectively debate with these planeswalkers.

#48 Posted by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@juiceboks:

You don't actually debate with them, they're mostly so I can distinguish you without being like 'the one team with Spider-Man'.

#49 Posted by Juiceboks (10795 posts) - - Show Bio

@thedarklordpandamonium Don't they play some role on the battlefield though? I mean isn't that what the character assists are for?

#50 Edited by Thedarklordpandamonium (4825 posts) - - Show Bio

@juiceboks:

Naw they just mostly look cool and are for lore purposes.

Your character assists are a pool of possible assists per round; your choice affects your scenario and opponent (there will be a PM where you choose these) giving you a 'side' in a conflict.
