No prep huh?

I'm going with Taskmaster.

No Prometheum or Prep eh?

This would be a good fight. I think Taskmaster should win this one though. Deathstroke is an extremely competent fighter, and has proven that he can compete with the best of them. However, he is a very calculating, and very trained individual. Normally, this is what would give him a win against some of the more powerful street levelers. However, against Taskmaster the opposite tends to be the better approach. Characters like Agent X and Deadpool have bested him because of their chaotic spur of the moment fighting styles that are hard for Taskmaster to pin down with his photographic reflexes.

Deathstroke, however, I do not believe is a chaotic or spur of the moment type of fighter. He's always been portrayed as calculating, relying on tried and tested combat styles, precision attacks, and perfect execution. These are the kind of things Taskmaster can mimic, and adapt to, the sort of fighting style which he can get a grasp on, and quickly turn against his opponent.

For this reason, I think that Taskmaster, despite Deathstrokes superior stats and his healing factor, should prevail.

Thanks for reading,

I like how people will agree that Taskmaster beats Deathstroke....and yet they think he owns Spider-Man.

@Sufferthorn: @Floopay: Unfortunately neither of you two are educated enough on both Taskmaster or Deathstroke to have a formulated opinion.

Since I've read nearly every comic with both characters in it I can safely say Deathstroke wins 8/10 in a random encounter

First of for all of Taskmasters amazing fighting skills he doesn't have the same track record in combat that Slade has

When Taskmaster fights the Avengers, he can fight characters like Captain America and Hawkeye in direct combat, when someone like Iron Man comes in he high tails it and uses hit and run tactics

Taskmaster has beaten Spiderman but Spiderman admitted that he was holding back, when they fought the second time Spidey cut loose and nearly killed the guy

When Deathstroke fights the Titans and the Outsiders he can literally stand his ground without getting touched. Nightwing, Robin, Ravager, Jericho and Donna Troy couldn't lay a hand on him and he was casually kicking their asses

So lets review

Taskmaster has the edge in martial arts skill

Deathstroke has the edge in combat skill, physical stats, intelligence etc

Slade is simply too fast, too strong, and too intelligent for Taskmaster to survive this fight It's a shame because I love Taskmaster but he's simply outclassed here.

Most people who've read the majority of Slade and Tony's appearances in comics like myself know that Slade would kill Tasky without too much trouble. Only people who have no idea what they are talking about would think Taskmaster would win.

This. Not to mention Deathstroke is no stranger to fighting a person who can copy and use the styles of other people. Taskmaster doesnt bring anything to the fight that Stroke hasnt seen and fought with before.

I will say though if its Udon Taskmaster he'd have a better chance with the double speed and better all around feats.

Udon Taskmaster is 616 Taskmaster though

@The Last Arashikage: Most importantly

Black Swan was able to get around Taskmasters ability and kick his ass because Taskmaster couldn't read him

Slade has shown that he has the ability to control his molecules and can even fool machines into thinking he's dead. He can easily use the same tactic Black Swan did against Taskmaster. Not that he would have to but it's another way he can win. Ravager has an ability similar to Taskmaster where she can read movements and it didn't work on Slade because he can control his body to such a degree

Only Udon's Taskmaster has ever used the double speed or the bullet catch. 616 or not, Udon's Taskmaster is was like an Anime version of what Tasky would be. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain Udon's Taskmaster isnt canon. Its continually separated from the standard version. Theres even a battle here on CV between Stroke and Task and it specifically states Udon version. I have no problem if we wanna lump them together, but the general consensus is that the two are separate.

@Gordonfreemanisbetterthanyou: Love that issue. But to be fair, during Blackest Night Rose has a much better showing against Stroke and in Batgirl (Cass Cain v2) Deathstroke says there are really only two ways to beat Rose and Cass. The first is by getting inside their heads (taunting, talking ish, etc) and the second was from a distance. So although I love that scan, it is possible that he was just talking sh!t messing with her head by mixing half-truths with bullsh!t. Or not, I'm just saying its possible.
