The symbiotes are the only ones vulnerable to sonics and fire. While the host may suffer from some form of feedback, it won't be as fatal to them as the symbiotes. With one day, Reed whips up a sonic bomb that detonates at such a frequency to be completely safe for the human hosts, but completely incapacitate the symbiotes.

There is a REASON when Reed threatened to devote one whole hour of his undivided attention to ruining the Mad Thinker's operations, the Mad Thinker backed down.

Human torch Should be able to subdue them without killing them

Human Torch is too much for the symbiotes. Even without him, Reed can do some damage with flame/sonic weapons. Without prep this might be a different story, but as it is, FF win easily.
