Well, this Dormammu cat may be virtually indestructible (plus he gets points for having a head that resembles Ghost Rider), but Surtur is flat out sick. He'll be serving up Dormammu Spring Rolls with Twilight in no time at all.

Surtur, i'd say, is above Dormammu! unless Dormammu has it to take out Odin and start up Ragnarok, Surtur deals Dormmy a harsh defeat with his flamming sword!

Your reasoning seems flawed. 
Although very powerful, Dormammu is not as powerful as Odin. 
Dormammu will certainly have far greater versalitility with his power than Surtur will with his. 
Surtur for the win.

Dormammu would beat Surtur, unless Surtur has his twilight sword. 

mephisto is not above odin. dormammu was odin's equal when summomed by order and chaos. also...dormammu beats surtur

@evoljeanyes: Except that Surtur and Odin killed each other on a daily basis in JMS' reboot, which makes them equal.

Anyways, Dormmammu was effectively beaten by Hulk 'thunder-clapping' his head while doing his 'I won' speech, I don't think Surtur has lost a fight anywhere nearly as embarrassing or anticlimactic as that.

Odin took Mephisto's soul and he could do nothing to stop him.(i've heard this in Bio's but not actually seen the panels for myself)

Odin and Zeus have been compared directly to Dormmamu in the past.(by Dormmammu himself!!!!!)

Dormmammu had literally all his powers drained by his equally powerful sister Umar at that point. So it doesn't really count.

So the Hulk was literally boned unconscious by his sister in a second. and turned to glass by Dormmamu when he actually had power.

and yeah as the battle (which was dormmamu toying with the heroes for fun) was going on Umar was draining his powers.

and yeah it's a loss but not under his own powers to the Hulk.

so your statement of him essentially being beaten by the Hulk isn't really true, or at least not the way you said it to be. and since unless Surtur has help from Umar here that doesn't really apply to this battle in any way.

Dormmammu can make himself look silly all on his own.

I think this is pretty even. Without Twilight I would favor Dormammu while with Twilight I think it goes towards Surtur. Surtur just doesn't have many uses of power in the way that Dormammu does but he did bust the galaxy that BRB is originally from and opened a portal that caused the demons to chase BRB to earth. Surtur also has insane durability and magic resistance.

Surtur and Ymir couldn't break free from the prison made by Odin, just through the The Spell of Fire and Ice made by Asmodeus with power of Satannish that they could finally could enter on Earth Dimension, showing the superiority of Satannish's power.

Also, The Crystal of Conquest used by Avengers to defeat Ymir and Surtur is formed by the power of Satannish too.

And Satannish being the creation of Dormammu and tiers below him says a lot.

@asmodeus12345: I'm not sure your logic holds in saying that Satannish is tiers below Dormammu anymore than it would be to say that Ultron must be tiers below Hank Pym. Or anymore than it would be to say that Dormammu and Umar must be below their father who they killed. Granted I'm not a huge expert on either character but it would have to be established based on things that have happened on panel to say that Dormammu is tiers above Satannish.

@spambot: First: Sinifer got transmuted to dead matter, power isn't even everything, and nothing suggest that he wasn't more powerful than Dormammu and Umar, but he lost because he didn't have resistance to matter transmutation, and even if he did, Dormammu can control the entire Molecular Activity from Dark Dimension, so he's pretty powerful with that.

And Satannish acknowledged Dormammu as his master and creator, showing his inferiority, he betrayed all the Hell-Lords just because of Dormammu's orders, and if he could, he would destroy him.

Satannish is mostly a jobber with Mephisto, but aside for that, he was created for be one, if not THE most powerful demon by Roy Thomas himself.

Dorms outside of his realm as he is here, isn't as bad ass as he is in his own realm were he would decimate surtur. Surtur here on neutral ground has no such weakness he is as strong no matter were he goes. With the twighlight sword surtur here will take it. With out sword or in dorms realm dorms wins
