This looks right to me. Though does Thor have any underwater feats?

Edit, Superman's cloths look far more streamlined than Thor's. Over a 500 mile swim, that could give him the advantage.

You say this as if you think Thor is weak. Im sure he is one of the strongest heroes in all of comics. Ohh and he does throw things more than Supes (Hammer)

Superman due to far greater speed feats.

Thor due to more experience.

Why is mjolnir being compared to a javelin when mjolnir can fly.

Because Thor twirls the damn thing and tosses it regularly for the past 50 years. Twirl the thing using his finger tips;

Then toss it really far away. To the extent where Mjolnir's enchantments come into play is ambiguous, because the vast majority of the time it's all him. It's a gimme event for the character, just like sprinting is for Superman (post 52 of course). It's somewhat hilarious that anyone thinks otherwise when Thor has a ton of throwing feats under his belt and likely has some experience with things like Javelins compared to Clark from the get-go.

Except that the motion for throwing a javelin and a hammer are completely different. Throwing a javelin is a linear motion, which means that Superman with his better speed would likely be able to throw it faster.

@isaac_clarke: Not sure what the scan is supposed to show that he can twirl a pom pom. Do you have any proof that Mjolnir doesn't fly right after Thor lets it go is there some txt that says Mjolnir about a mile away decides to start flying.

i find it funny that people think supes can beat thor in a wrestling match, where you cant strike, because supes fights like shit and thor is actually trained in combat.

Superman has been trained in unarmed combat too.

I honestly don't see how Thor is going to have any more difficulty throwing a Javelin over his hammer. Given how fast his fingers go, he could still do his twirl if he wants and toss it out of the solar system or something nonsensical like that.

Thor just has way better distance feats in regards to how fast and how far he's thrown things.

@Immortal777 said:

@isaac_clarke: Not sure what the scan is supposed to show that he can twirl a pom pom.

Hercules is a pom pom? It's an example of him being able to do what he does with his hammer with Hercules effortlessly. He tosses him into the clouds after he lets go, then they bro-fist destroying the area around them.

Do you have any proof that Mjolnir doesn't fly right after Thor lets it go is there some txt that says Mjolnir about a mile away decides to start flying.

He's been throwing the thing from his hands at alternating speeds for decades, he's not just doing the twirling motion around his body for show. Can the hammer fly to him at insane speeds to him touching it? Sure. That doesn't change the fact he's the one hurling it at things, it's not just some mental command to leave his hand - otherwise the entire process he does with it to throw it are not only redundant, but idiotic.

The limits to how far he can throw his hammer or how fast thus far aren't apparent. There isn't any indications that enchantments have limits in regard to distance. It's been chucked to the furthest end of the galaxy and back in under a minute - it has also dimension hopped to get to his hand.

@LONGTIME: honestly it doesnt look like it,anyways thor has more experience in h2h combat. supes fighting style consist of overwhelming his opponent with his massive strenght, yet when facing an skillful opponent he gets outmatched even if he is millions of times stronger (example karate kid) even batman has held his ground against him. while thor has lived for how many years i know (even ancient nordics adored him) and he has been battling since then.

#42 Posted by Baldy (5021 posts) - 10 months, 13 days ago - Show Bio

1) Superman clearly.

2) Thor.

Javelin throwing is more about technique than pure physical superiority, I suspect that Thor's background as a warrior and experience with throwing weapons, albeit a vastly different one, will give him enough of an edge to beat Superman by a close margin here.

3) Thor.

This is again, I think due to technique and training. Thor is clearly the 'better' fighter, and while I think he is at a disadvantage in strength, speed, and endurance, his technique and training will give him a 2/3 win.

4) Superman clearly.

Actually, Superman is an expert boxer that was trained by Wildcat, his fighting style also includes kryptonian martial arts Torquasm Vo and Torquasm Rao, he has been trained by both Batman and Wonder Woman in the use of pressure points (a style he uses constantly). On the combat experience front, Superman has a thousand + years of combat experience due to being sent to a magical War in Action Comics #761...so whatever awesome combat experience Thor possesses fighting slow frost giants cannot be that much.

Furthermore, you have also proved a point that longtime combat experience means nothing since you mentioned Batman as a skillfull warrior (that could easily outfight Thor in a H2H situation...obviously without powers) and Thor has THOUSANDS of fighting under his belt while Bruce does not...yet Wayne is a better fighter than blondie. Experience does not a warrior make, skill does.

And Superman is more skilled than Thor.

Thor's gonna be surprised when he lets go of the javelin and it doesn't hurtle itself through the air like his hammer normally does.
