Superman vs Martian Manhunter (JLU versions)

They both had a tendency to job, but when things got serious Superman and Martian Manhunter were two of the strongest heroes on Justice League Unlimited. But if these two heroes decided to fight, which one would win?

This is both characters as of the end of animated Justice League Unlimited (ie after they both stopped jobbing as much)

Starting distance for both rounds is 50 feet. Fight starts in the skies above Metropolis

Round 1:

Both are serious but in character

Round 2:

Both are morals off

Who will win?

Superman for both rounds

J'onn both rounds. Justice League Superman was easily mind controlled.

@arcus: both were easily beaten but when you look overall j'onn got knocked down so much faster.

Round 1: Supes 7/10

Round 2: Manhunter 9/10

J'onn did a lot of phasing through robots and coming out the other side with their innards on JLU.

Morals off nothing is stopping him from holding a Krypyonian heart in his hands

I don't remember John doing much with telepathy from the JLU. And Im not sure he can control Superman. John was not that impressive.. At least from show. And 2-3 serious punches from Superman might bring him down.

In comics John wins, because of all the powers they've given him through the years(and some people say Superman is over powered)

But in the shows Supes wins. Blood lusted or not. He did beat the crap out of Darkseid.

Thats only my point view.

Superman's speed and strength in the fight with Darkseid for the series finally makes me think he thoroughly outclasses J'onn in pure physicals and J'onn's weakness to fire is a huge boon. But even in serious situations while in character Clark holds back a good deal as he proved with his "Chance to really let go speech" to Darkseid SO I don't think he'll blitz J'onn like he could giveing the Martian time to bust out his better skills which will give him the slight win with morals on. Morals off, Superman might blitz But not fast enough to stop j'onn from phasing his organs out.

Round 1 7/10 for the Martian, Round 2 9/10 for the Martian.

They are both dumb in how they use their powers though

Yes. I mentioned that. There are two rounds in the OP. one with them being "Serious but In character" which in my mind means Supes will still hold back some because he was in perilous situations hundreds of times in DCAU and never cut loose like he did on Darkseid apparently and then there is round 2 which is no morals which i think makes it even easier for J'onn

I can't think of anything specific. Haven't watched the series in a while. Ignoring his telepathy he still has intangibility and invisibility.

superman for both rounds. j'onn was kind of weak during the show. he always got beat up.

Morals on they'd both just keep holding back, so it'd be balanced unless one of them tries to hold back more.

Superman stomps both rounds. MMH didn't actually use his powers anywhere near as good as his comic version. With Morals Off Superman blitzes J'onn to oblivion, since he's the only one (excluding Flash) who showed feats for blitzing,

R2 is simply because we got to see more of what a no morals superman was like during the justice lord episodeds.

How do you see him countering MM's intangibility?

Martian Manhunter has his telepathy to allow him to read supermans mind and react accordingly. Shape shifting, invisibility, and intangibility can help him evade some of supermans punches too.

Supermans has far superior strength and durability not to mention his enhanced speed which allows him to be a semi invisible blur to humans. Heat vision is a pretty decent power to have too.

This is a pretty decent fight if the Martian uses his abilities to their full extent instead of just duking it out.
