1. Gladiator wins:

Superman's heat vision apparently rivals the sun etc, while Gladiator's is said to be hotter than stars, Superman has the better versatility with it; however Gladiator's is hotter.

2. Gladiator is said to be as cold as the vacuum of space, that's above Superman's; and while Superman may have better versatility with it most likely; Gladiator's is colder.

3. Superman, he just fights generally faster people, apart from characters like SS, Quasar etc; and Superman has more speed feats to back that up...

4. Physcial lifting strength Superman, due to New-52; however striking=Gladiator...

@w0nd: If he begins to doubt himself his confidence will drop. At 100% confidence, bloodlusted, and out of character no being in the Marvel Universe would be safe. And that's not me making a fanboy statement either.

Just one prime example for Superman in each category Strength, Speed, Freeze Breath, Heat Vision, and let me add on Striking Power just for fun. And you don't need to include scans just list them.

Speed I agree that Superman wins there.

And Superman has the better lifting strength, while Gladiator has the superior striking abilities...

hmm interesting, well with power like that why would he ever lose confidence? The last I think I saw of him he got beat up and his son was furious for not going into battle with him. I do like kid gladiator, he is amusing

@kingant27: Yeah that's what I can't stand. Gladiator, Hyperion, Sentry, Blue Marvel.....because all of these guys are made in the Superman mold aka.cape, tights, strong moral complex, incredible powers ect. DC fans will hate on them and call them rip-offs. Even though none of these characters have much in common with Superman and even among each other. It saddens me sometimes.

And I agree Gladiator has superior striking, I said he would bust the earth more than Superman.

I don't know if I agree that Superman would win on Speed either. After all, I believe there are scans of Gladiator going many many many times FTL.

@johnfrank120: That's probably PIS, bearing in mind Superman's heat vision is heat based, and is not a force like Cyclops's etc, so if no heat cold do that, then it's either PIS; or Orion exaggerating...

Depends the limit on the equipment, and unless that equipment could measure up to above stars; then I would agree with you.

Superman best striking feat IMO, is in New-52, where his punch was felt even from the centre of the Earth, and he didn't even punch the Earth itself; however Gladiator has a much better striking feat IMO...

@randomsid: He has been recorded as going at least one hundred times the speed of light, the highest recorded speed of any Marvel character so far to my knowledge.
