Is Gladiator really this weak?

No, in a random encounter and if Gladiator is confident, it's a great fight, but as I noted Superman would benefit from prep way more than Gladiator.

Sundipped Superman still loses. Gladiator casually squashes supernovae in his hand, Superman, even after sundipping for an hour, isn't at that level. Especially based off New 52 feats which rules state we use.

Gladiator is not weak, and this fight isn't going to be easy for either of them. Gladiator has a confidence issue, and a fight against Superman isn't going to help him in that department. Gladiator squashes supernovas, Superman has held a powercube in his hand and has planet moving strength as well. In a fight like this I think a characters fighting resume speaks volumes, and Superman's resume is crapping on Gladiators.

In a random encounter I'd say Superman wins. With prep Superman wins it handily.
