@PunkMastaFlex: let me guess, this happened in comic right? well ok I will take your word for it if what you're saying is true. I haven't gotten the chance to read all the comics though, all I know is Knuckles keeping the grey chaos emerald hidden from Dr Robotnik til the last moment and it happened to influence the other six somehow. oh and according to research super sonic used to be evil and there was an evil sonic named Scourge. also Tails and Knuckles were in comic if I remember right.
@Nessy: that depends on the version you're talking about, in that horrible anime Sonic X he got defeated by Metarex. definitely not unlimited power there.
up until now, the only time I've seen something implying Super Sonic to be this" all powerful entity" was in fanfiction on Newgrounds.
Sonic wins. He beat a Universe buster and Destroyed a dimension when he and knuckles went at it. It was also stated they were going at incaluable speeds and they energy was so powerful it ripped the very fabric of space and time and there energy was off the charts.
wait wait wait hold up....Are we allowed to use the comic version of sonic? Doesn't this contradict the rules of this site? Goku should wtf stomp video game super sonic since super shadow died from a planet buster but yes the archie comics are different....Sonic wins that fight if its the comic version yes.
@dccomicsrule2011: I am well aware of his spacial warping abilities, Shadow the ultimate life form could use it as a method of teleportation with 1 chaos emerald, even in Sonic Adventure 2. wasn't Chaos also in comic?

Now that you say it if we are using the comic version then yes it is against the rules.
@jashro44: yes go ahead, I welcome you all to use any version of SS you wish. I would really like to know since the few Sonic comics I did get to read were mint back in the 90's. =) so excuse my ignorance in my OP, I really didn't know Super Sonic was capable of destruction on such a scale. on the side note, I've seen some people say Super Sonic was a Super Saiyan rip off, but as we all know, Goku's story rips off Kryptonians so I say fair game to the game programmer Yuji Naka.

No problem. Anyways it should be noted if this is the comic version that sonic apparently once created a shield to protect himself from the destruction of 1/5th of the universe. I don't know if its true but I hear all sorts of crazy stuff like that.
If its the video game version he will lose since super shadow died from a planet buster. Pretty sure super sonic isn't anymore durable than super shadow.

That dimension was actually destroyed because there was no chaos emerald in it. I can also prove it if you want.
Anyway, since the OP is using the Sonic X version of Sonic, I don't know who wins because I don't really watch Sonic X that much.

Super Sonic actually came before Super Saiyans actually. From what I have heard, Sonic 2, the first game with Super Sonic, came out before the manga chapter where Goku went Super Saiyan.
@jashro44: it's only logical to assume that Sonic's hyper form was stronger than his super self in S3&K, but still I agree.
thing is Goku can also be killed by planet busting attacks, either by the explosion itself or the vacuum of space as shown when Semi Perfect Cell self destructed. no matter what some fans might say, fact is he nearly drowned during his fight with Frieza which automatically means he needs air to live on. even against Kid Buu he needed to escape Earth to the planet of the Kai's. powerful yes, but he's not invincible. Thanos with infinity gauntlet apparently would solo the Dragonball universe. as would Galactus, Living Tribunal and obviously TOAA.

Well yes goku would lose to a lot of people but on contray to popular belief goku can breath in space. He took the rabbit mob to the moon in a chapter of dragon ball. And yes planet busters can kill goku but he can also dish them out something super sonic in the games couldn't do.

Really? I have to reread it.
In that comic, I think one of Robotnik's robots said that the dimension couldn't maintain itself because the chaos emeralds in it were removed by Sonic and Knuckles so they could turn into their super forms. And in a later issue, Robotnik removed an emerald from a dimension and it fell apart and Sonic said it was just like when he and Knuckles fought.

Nope, sonic 2 came out a year later in 1992.
You sure? I heard some people say he went SSJ in either 1992 and others say it was 1994.

"Nessy: Nope, sonic 2 came out a year later in 1992."
look, I really don't give a flying f*ck on who was the first to come up with the golden hair/aura concept. don't make this forum bait for the DBZ fanboys to start nerdraging on here please. it's not that imaginative anyway, rub a balloon against your hair and see what happens. your hair stands on end due to being charged by static electricity. simple physics. everything else Akira Toriyama used for saiyans he took from DC, home planet having many times more gravity than Earth, a would be hero sent to Earth as an infant in a spacepod, home planet being destroyed by a Tyrant ect. the only difference is Frieza isn't a machine like Brainiac.

I just didn't want to have an endless stream of sonic fanboys rushing into this thread calling dragonball z an unoriginal copycat.
@jashro44: he took a rabbit mob to the moon? ah well yes maybe but you see Frieza's battle with Goku was canon to the manga and you gotta remember that we never see Goku battle in space (while he's alive) So popular belief or not, if Goku can be drowned, he can also suffocate in a vacuum. it's that simple to understand my friend.

The rabbit mob is also canon to the manga. And I don't recall goku drowning.

lol "Stolen balls". I can't help but find that funny. :P
@jashro44: Dude have you ever seen his fight with Frieza and taken notes? he put his foot on top of his head to pin him underwater, it was blatantly obvious what his intention was and he of all beings in the universe would know a thing or two about saiyans. I will say this though, the whole Dragonball series is inconsistent. you go look around and you see Burter claiming he was faster than light when he clearly was not, he lost to someone who trained in only 100 times Earth's gravity. that's not even anywhere near the gravity of a neutron star. that's how illogical that is. I will tell you who is FTL Silverage Superman, after all he did escape a black hole.
@Nessy: madness for what exactly? dude like I said to that other poster earlier I sensed a pointless argument coming on. someone else on the last page claimed Sonic 2 came out before the manga that showed Super Saiyan Goku which I know was false. then you came around here singling me out on this originality thing. just chill.

I just reviewed the fight with freiza in the manga. I couldn't find the part where goku almost drowned (It could have been because I skimmed through it to quickly). As far as I'm concerned freiza is wrong. What goku did>>>>>>>>>>What freiza said.
Saiyans are stated to not be able to survive in space in the manga although the only time we actually have scans of them in space was when Goku went to the Earth to Moon and back via power pole. The only logical conclusion here is that Goku can hold his breath for a hell of a long time.
@alcoholbob: Lol my point exactly and agreed. mangas should never be compared with comics. though I did say in my OP that Goku would win but since comic SS was supposedly a universe buster when he fought Knuckles I think I am going to be forced to change my mind on that judgement. still decent characters though.
@jashro44: the fact that he was sent to Earth in a saiyan spacepod as a baby means we might as well just consider Goku going to the moon on his power pole a comedy outtake not to be taken seriously, since aside from that and filler episodes in anime, that's the only time he ever did go into space without even so much as a spacesuit let alone a ship.

goku couldn't fly as a baby. The ships are faster means of transportation as well. I can walk to my school but its easier if I take a car.
@jashro44: and what about the time when he went into the rejuvenation tank after Captain Ginyu was taken care of? Goku had a life support system hooked up to his mouth and nose while immersed in liquid. at that point he was perfectly capable of flying then. earlier in the series Raditz, Vegeta and Nappa all used spacepods as adults, and just for the sake of proving my point even further, Goku needed to use a spacepod to escape Namek exploding, and on his way back to Earth from Yardrat after he was nursed back to peak health.
the DBZ universe isn't that big compared to other fiction, it was only stated to have 4 galaxies plus Other World. surely if Goku could survive in space then he would actually be brave enough to TRAVEL THROUGH IT. it was only his Instant Transmission technique that allowed him to get around large distances without a spaceship.

How does the healing chamber work? How do we know the liquid wasn't poisonous to drink? I will admit thats a good point but how do we know their isn't another use for those breathing devices.
As I said ship is faster than flying. I can walk to my school buts its easier to use a ship and faster. And actually:
@jashro44: yes the spaceships are faster, but we both know they're not always readily available and really they became almost obsolete once Goku learned IT. cool scan of Gotenks flying around the globe though, their version of Earth only has one continent and a handful of small islands but still impressive. and he can scream loud enough to create wormholes if I remember right.

Well the space pod was ripoff of Superman's origin story, so that doesn't really tell us that much.
