He's not kryptonian he's a regular human who was infused with alien DNA, he's not as powerful as a kryptonian. He had to use the shield to block bullets, and he was able to be placed in suspended animation as well.While significantly stronger then Cap I believe he pales in comparison to this version, but I may be wrong, I haven't read the amalgram titles in many,many years.
