1. Being a god has nothing to do with his power. Storm is stronger then a lot of Gods. The warriors three for example, etc. Being a thunder god is a title, like Magneto is the master of magnetism. 2. Thor beat him off of a technicality. Balder was wrecking the powersources for the armor, and it started to fail. Prior to that, Doom was taking Thor to town. Not to mention, the magical abilities of a Doombot were holding Thor off temporarily. If Doom had used his full magical prowess and training from Wyncham, then Thor would have been crushed. 3. Thor beat Rulk in the next issue. Or was beating him. In the first encounter, Thor got one good hit in, but he was taken aback by a new Hulk on the scene, and Rulk got the jump on him.

@rbysjti: First a little science. The average bolt of lightning produces one billions volts. Put simply, this is a thousand megavolts. Go ask your science club in the Storm camp about this. They'll confirm it.
The first time Doom uses electricity in his armor, it was a measly one hundred thousand megavolts. For reference, that's a thousand times more powerful then a bolt of lightning.

it's not a proof. it's just your claim. you want proof? Storm's lightning is faster as well. i don't wanna post the image where Storm blocks Cyclops optic blast. I guess, you didn't remember what Storm did in The new Fantastic Four.
Anyway, i'm having a problem posting the image before this image.
Doom has power absorption tech in his armor that can take the Power Cosmic so unless she can deal out more damage than the Power Cosmic she can't even scratch him.
What Issue was your Storm defeating Doom scan from? Perhaps 145-147? If this is the issue then there is your proof.
@rbysjti: 1. It is proof. Try reading. Second panel. They talk about the fight in issues 145-147 in Uncanny X-Men, state that it wasn't even the real Doom, and that it's not even a combat model.
2. Your scan has no indication of voltage. That's not proof. That's just her throwing a bolt of lightning. Bring proof that her lightning produces more power than Dooms armor, because your argument is invalid.
