Storm vs Alex Mercer
VS
Fight takes place in downtown New York City, in the afternoon. No prep. Each is aware of the other's powers. They start twenty feet apart. Morals are off.
Who wins?
wat mercer dude theres nothing storm can do to kill mercer and with his speed and strenght he will kill her
wat mercer dude theres nothing storm can do to kill mercer and with his speed and strenght he will kill herStorm has fought people with superhuman strength and speed, and has beat them. Callisto beat on 3 separate occassions, Black Panther beat in World's Apart, and she wasn't trying to kill him, Colossus (strength), Wolverine (speed), Human Torch (speed). Her training as a thief gives her ability that's on par with gambit's, and her many battles gives her fighting experience far beyond any of the women in xmen. Psylock is probably the only one who would give her a good run for her money, but storm would still win.
Alex Mercer is fast and strong, and he would be able to absorb her, if 1. she doesn't react fast enough to create a pressure shield around her, 2. Disrupt his him trying to absorb her by attacking his nervous system with emp shutting down his brain 3. striking herself with lighting. Storm is immune to her Lighting, Alex from what i know is not.
I also think Storm would win. I don't see how he will get to Storm when she can fly out of his reach, and still has the attack range advantage.
@blacharrt: i dont see any of storms attacks would really affect alex if he can survive a nuclear bomb i just dont see storm doing any thing that can really kill him of even knock he out
Storm. Her weather manipulation abilities would be enough to keep Mercer at bay with a hurricane before summoning a lightning storm to electrocute his lights out. If Mercer could get close enough he could tear her apart but realistically (in comic book terms) Storm wouldn't let Mercer get that close.
If each are aware of the other's abilities, wouldn't Alex Mercer go to a place, like a sewer, to avoid her while she stuck to the sky to avoid getting in range? I would think it comes down to who can get a clear shot at the other without the other knowing. She could defeat him with one attack but all it would take for her is to get touched once to be absorbed. He's kind of similar to the Phalanx and Venom. It's inconclusive to me, due to the nature of their powers - I don't see her hitting every helicopter and airplane she sees with thunder and lightning in the off chance that he was in control of them.

battle starts 20 ft apart dude
@enemybird: storm can quickly fly away
Depends. Alex could use his disguise to get close. He’s pretty fast and get possible get to her. 20 feet isn’t much for him. I see it being pretty likely she just pummels him with well... storms. Dunno if she can get past his regen though. I’m assuming she has some pretty crazy feats though so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt
OP states they’re aware of each other’s powers and they’re only twenty feet away, they also start visible so this stealth disguise scenario for Alex isn’t viable, but even if for whatever reason he was disguised, Storm’s morals are off so there’s nothing stopping her from frying the area in front of her with a huge lightning bolt or sweeping everything in front of her away in an F5 tornado.
