@thanosii: reason
Starbrand vs Sentry vs Molecule Man
@realitywarper: great info
Thanks
@joshua755: Sentry already defeated MM
I don't think SB could match-up with any of these 2
It just an opinion, tho
Owen stomps them both
@nighthunder: reason
@nighthunder: Molecule man already lost
Sentry wins this
@natedwag: MM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sentry going by actual feats and not a single instance filled with plot.
@nighthunder: sentry statements with that feat >>>>>>> Molecule man
@natedwag: I wouldn't call beating that molecule man a feat. Molecule man at his prime would fodderize sentry.
@nighthunder: So wait. First it was plot, now he wasn't at his prime? You don't sound very sure about what you're saying
@natedwag: I'm very sure about what I'm saying. MM, ever since his wife left him, wasn't operating at the leves shown vs beyonder. When I said plot I meant context behind the instances.
@nighthunder: the fact that you believe that after seemingly reading this thread is laughable.
Sentry>>>MM. It's not that hard to grasp
@nighthunder: I agree with you that Sentry beating MM was not proof that Sentry is more powerful.
In the comic it was stated by Beyonder(who was a version invented by MM) that MM WANTED TO FAIL. It's stated in the comic but people over look that. MM felt guilty that he killed about 44 people.
We know MM mental stability affects his power. He manhandled Sentry twice. So when Sentry showed his power, MM immediately lost his confidence. Started doubting himself. and submitted to Sentry.
In the end, Norman says that MM didn't know reality from imaginary. So even though MM seemed like he was cocky, the fact he had imaginary friends shows he was still insecure.
So that ONE feat does not prove that Sentry is more powerful. Overall feats show MM is more powerful.
Also MM said "I can control molecules.... well at least the molecules around me."
Every other version of MM could control molecules EVERYWHERE. In other dimensions, universes and timelines. And the most this MM manipulated was a city. Though this MM showed skill, his power was obviously diminished.
I never read Star Brand, but I was reading some of the powers of Star Brand and I have listed them below. Well if all fighters are at full power and paying attention to the battle and I assume confidence isn't and issue. Star Brand has the potential to win. I think he can defeat Sentry with ease, but Molecule Man might be a good fight.
Some of Star Brand Power's:
- Adaptive
- Agility
- Cosmic Awareness
- Dimensional Manipulation
- Energy Absorption
- Energy Manipulation
- Energy Shield
- Energy-EnhancedStrike
- Flight (Hyper-light speeds)
- Healing
- Heat Generation
- Immorality (If "killed," he changes into a reptile-like form while he regenerates)
- Intellect
- Invulnerability
- Reality Manipulation
- Stamina
- Stealth
- Super Senses
- Super Speed
- Super Strength (Unlimited)
- Telekinesis
- Unarmed Combat
**The Star Brand can pretty much use his imagination to expand his abilities. Because of this, the stronger the imagination of a bearer, the stronger his power will be. The Starchild, for example, was capable of extensive temporal and reality manipulation.**
**Weakness** The Star Brand's power will not typically manifest itself when the bearer is frightened or reluctant in any way.
In a bout between three whinning little b___s with the powers of gods, who would be unbeatable IF THEY ONLY HAD SELF-CONFIDENCE OR MENTAL STABILITY...
I think Starbrand could come out on top, narrowly.
Pretty obvious mismatch, zero need to bump this
@higherpower @owie
@professorrespect: I think it's at least arguable with the character versions of the time the thread was made. Starbrand as a power--as opposed to this character--was shown at least in theory to be a challenge to the Living Tribunal in Quasar and you could at least argue it might come out that way here. I personally think the Sentry win over Owen was nonsense writing and at best due to MM's mental state but if people want to argue the other way that's fine.
(There was no reason to bump this though.)

I mean even if we go with the nerfed Molecule Man at the time of the thread being around: wouldn't it then be a mismatch the other way around, given Sentry alone was able to overwhelm his powers?
I'm also thinking that this was made 7 years ago (2015) so we'd have the Molecule Man from Secret Wars: way above any possible argumentation of a fair fight against Sentry unless all reasonable expectations are removed. That also applies to Starbrand, who at this time of writing was a rookie who wouldn't have access to the full power of the Starbrand by a good few degrees, his greatest feat was a suicide bomb against a singular Beyonder shell in comparison to Secret Wars Owen destroying all of them in a chain reaction burst. In terms of reasonable argumentation, I don't think this matchup has that given the versions provided.
