Could Thing, in his Spikey Super Thing Form, have made it through the same Challenges that Hulk faced on Sakaar?
Senerio:
Earth's heroes fight agaist the Fantastic Four for some un-named reason and manage to KILL the other three members, leaving Thing battered and alone. Thing recovers and immediately goes berserk, changing into the Spikey Super version Thing once again, this time with alot more experience and a grudge against the heroes who killed Sue, Johnny, and Reed!
Ben Grimm goes on a rampage, taking out several of the heroes before he is considered a large threat to the remaining heroes. Eventually, Thing is subdued, and sent into space the same way Hulk was. He ends up on Sakaar, and here is where the story/match-up(s) take place...
Spikey Super Thing vs Sakaar Challenges!
I think the Thing could do this.
He's had loads of fighting experience growing up on the mean streets of NYC, amateur boxing, serving in the military and, of course, fighting as a member of the FF. He was kidnapped by the skrulls and forced to fight as a gladiator back in FF #91-94. He gave Tyco Slatterus (The Champion) a better fight than all of Earth's other heavy-hitters in Marvel-Two-In-One Annual #7.
So in this scenario he arrives in his physically strongest and most durable form and has a lifetime of actual skilled and experienced fighting under his belt. The Hulk had no real skill and had to develop it on Sakaar. The story may take a couple of differnt turns, but Ben can accomplish everthing Hulk did in Planet Hulk.
"HMMM mind to to tell me who those superheroes he killed?"
Confused... ?
But, Ben Grimm has stood toe to toe with Namor, Hulk, Thor, ect. and done quite well, sometimes winning/stalemating them. If that helps at all.
100+ tons strength (feats closer to 200 tons) ! Twice as durable, but just as nimble. And here, he has another 2 decades of experience and is NOT holding back... at all!
; )
