Spider-Man takes a rather large majority due to his superior speed, agility, spide sense, webbing, strength, durability and use of webbing. Gambit could perhaps take 1...2 if he's on his absolute A game and not holding back.
Spidey that easy, really? Isn't Gambit at the same level of speed? And is evenm more dangerous because of his manupulation and will to finish off oponent.
I go to Gambit. Although a solid spidey punch would KO him.. butI think Gambit can pull it off

Gambit is definitely not agile as Spider-man. He is superhumanly agile, but nowhere near 15x that Spidey is. His kinetic energy charges are irrelevant if he can't connect with the target. And Spidey has avoided things far faster than cards...
if gambit lands a kick punches of any kind, spidey better check his spandex for hidden exploding cards. it's one of gambits favorite tricks to pull fast hands.
Any advantages that gambit usually has on an opponent will be useless against spider man. Spider sense takes away gambits surprise attacks. Speed, dexterity, and fighting styles close but spider man has superhuman strength and I think gambit would eventually fall.
i like to go in character with my forum battles spidey full potential would wreck gambit. spidey in comic battle would or could have some trouble with gambit. gambit is pretty agile himself and can dodge evade spidey style laser and alien tech and can even catch explosive bullet rounds and throw them back. the only problem is gambit is less durable and lack of strength which is okay since spidey pulls back his punches and doesnt kill.
I generally agree with that. But in character, none of the two would try to seriously injure the other. Though I agree that in character (with Spider-man casually fooling around), Gambit's chances increase.

in character they would injure each other to an extant... gambit would actually go further then spidey if the right circumstances were at play.

Yes, I said should. Is it possible for Spidey to lose to Gambit in a comic? Of course, Spidey has lose to foes much worse than Gambit. Everybody has lows and highs. But more than likely Spidey beats him without breaking a sweat.

yeah, see? this is where i start having problems with ppl saying he is easily pawned or "without breaking a sweat". i just dont see that happening very often or a likely outcome possible to happen? yes. but gambit himself has taken ppl far worse then spidey and come out on top, it shouldnt be easy for spidey to get his hands on gambit with CIS on.
Spidey goes to give the X-Men a message and is ambushed by Bishop. After quickly disbatching Bish, Spidey is attacked by Gambit who he defeats just as quickly.
i remember during the zero tolerance arch spidey fought marrow and well she gave him trouble, they then teamed up to fight two prime sentinels which they couldnt do jack against since they were out classed by several leagues.

It's not. Just checked. Ben appears taking some photos, but he doesn't interact with the X-Men. He fights Bishop 2 issues later. Bishop, but not Gambit.

Thing is, it's not even Pete. It's Ben - that has to be the period when Pete had retired after thinking he was the clone. But I'll check, and get back to you.
I believe just the opposite. He rarely receives credit in his appearances now-a-days...Just look at his recent fight with Wolverine, for example. Heck, he didn't even defeat the small group of guards in Legacy.
Thank you...Interesting, I wonder if Gambit was pulling his shots, since he said "I shall try t'e return tha' favor" when Spider-Man said he'd try to make this as painless as possible. Then at the end he goes "You leave me no choice, spider-man!"....and then his card is knocked away by the Black Cat. I'm not saying he was pulling his shots, merely asking if anyone thinks the same?
Also, it was very impressive he was able to destroy the webbing before it reached him.
this proves that gambit is fast enough to manage spider-mans attacks but......would have the card K.Oed spider-man like a landed punch to gambit would?

Spider-man has dodged bullets closer from the point Gambit is about to throw his last card...And as Spider-man says, "I can dodge your mutant fireworks all night". Eventually, Spidey caught him - if he didn't want to question him, and thus giving Remy the time he needed to reach for the card, a punch to the face probably would have ended this. @Dex said:

For the first part, neither of them is trying hard here...And it goes both ways: Gambit only did hit Spider-man's webbing, never came close to hitting Spider-man himself. But Spider-mancaught Gambit; as for the second part, it is doubtful.
