Strikes don't send opponents flying.
I like making these to get a feel for who would be on exact par with thor combat speed wise.

These again? Also, Thor.
Jobbertooth>Thor's jobbering
How is Thor supposed to be faster than Sabretooth when Victor's speed feats are better, and Thor is consistently outdone by street levelers speed wise?
@wolverine08: If Thor isn't jobbering, he'd be able to tag Victor. He's easily tagged hypersonic+ characters. Consistency is not Thor's strong suit.

It's not jobbing if it happens consistently. Thor has been suffering from claims of being slow since the 60 and 70s along with being consistently being outspeed by street levelers. Street levelers have tagged hypersonic+ characters as well along with having overall better speed feats than Thor. Most of the time we don't even know how fast the characters in question are going, making the speed feat unreliable.
Thor is just slow.
Ugh, ok fine, if thor loses this too, then let me just flat out ask the ones who think thir loses, who is on almost exact thor speed? I've been racking my brain trying t i fin out who. I thought sabretooth would be it.
In all honesty, I highly doubt I'm going to change my mind when it comes to Thor's speed. Hes heavily inconsistent between team books and solo titles. I'm kinda done with the whole Thor speed threads, because everyone has an opinion on it and isn't gonna change their mind on it. The only character of the Thor family that has consistency is Beta Ray Bill.
@beaconofstrength: Did you just throw a tree at me????? HOW RUDE!
Thor isn't slow for the record. Marvel, especially for heavy-weights, has a greater emphasis on showing power over speed. Speed emphasis is reserved for street-levelers (generally, although there are obvious exceptions) to keep themselves alive while interacting with heavy-weights. DC on the other hand puts a much greater emphasis on speed. It's just how the different companies like to portray things. Thor has some decent speed feats, and when you look at his "slow" occurrences, 9 time out of 10 they are to prevent him from smashing people well below his level to dust. Not going to get roped into a Thor speed debate, just saying my piece and moving along...
@wolverine08: Consistent based on what? His speed feats out weigh his low showings 7 to 1. Tagging hypersonic street levelers doesn't give Victor greater movement, otherwise Thor would have nanosecond speed by tussling with Surfer and Gladiator.
I'd like to see these feats you had in mind that seem to be superior to Thor's cause I'm sure they don't exist

haha .. wow XD
hmm..
op: depending on inconsistancy.. thor looses by his low showings.. thor wins with his high showings... ohh wait.. it's without mjolnir.. then thor might loose it :D

I never actually said that Victor tagged hypersonic characters is what makes him fast. I was pointing out that line of thinking is flawed.
@laflux: That and the guy throwing the tree LLJJJ.
@frozen: how is that relevant at all to this thread??
@wolverine08: Glad we can understand that but Victors speed is still inferior, taking advantage of Thor's low showings doesnt change their average difference in the attribute. You've consistently confused his speed with a link of comparison of the guys his slow against and those his not, the affirmation is made up of hypothesis evidence when street levelers are shown through that category to stand a chance at fighting powerhouses.
@experio: Fair enough mate.
@wolverine08: Wait, so thor is faster than street level now?
@dondave: who would you say is around thors combat speed? Gambit maybe?
Thor flies as fast as he can at Sabertooth, 1 hit, then spins Mjolnir around as fast as he can on Toothy's chin, 9 hits.
Thor wins.
@ilikedonuts: umm yea, you might wanna read the op.

This is incredibly stupid. Thor turns Sabertooth's head into a fine pink mist with the very first blow.
@kal_el_summers: read the op
@kal_el_summers: theres a thing called reading and not assuming
Wolverine literally mentioned when he thought that Thor was Victor, that he thought Creed 'traded speed for strength'.
Creed is too much.
Thor vs random thug C who has no speed feats or any feats for that matter is better.
@zeroplus: Probably but that's travel speed. Green Lanterns can travel at multiple times the speed of light but they would fall in the same ballpark as Thor when it comes to reacting
@cgoodness: Oh just realized it.
@dextersinister: If he can travel that fast, then logically he should have very fast reactions as well...

I don't see how this means Thor isn't slow. Sure, Marvel chooses to not emphasize speed for their bricks, but that means they don't have it. Thor is slow because Marvel chooses not to give him operational speed as a fundamental part of his powerset. It's their choice, sure, but what they've chosen is for Thor to be slow when compared to characters like DCs powerhouses or their own street level characters. "Marvel" determines how fast he is and the consistent portrayal they're going with is that he's not fast.
@cgoodness: True.
