I think it might come down with Spawn on top, but I wouldn't be too quick to give him the win. Dante has shown that he's very capable of taking on the types of foes Spawn has faced, and ascend to levels that roughly average out to the same ballpark as Spawn, too. Excluding the time Spawn went all divine an' whatnot, I'd say this would be a good fight for them both.

Depends on the version. Current Spawn is a toss-up.

@ancient_0f_days: yeah and the strangest part is you'll see 2 battles that are the exact same characters and the comments being from the same time period and in one they are backing a character but in the other one they are backing the opposite character but you'll notice the comments are from some of the same people on both WTF?????????????????????

Lol how bizarre that this was necro’d. If I had to guess, it would be DMC5 coming out, and Spawn being in MK11?

It’s conceptually interesting, since in 10 years both have underwent changes. Dante’s changes are hard to quantify however, having gained a new form but not many feats to go along with it. Even if this transformation made Dante, say, 2x as powerful as his strongest Devil Trigger 10 years ago, is it enough?

I’m not entirely sure... if this is a composite Dante, with time hax and all of his weapons in hyperspace, then I could see Dante being able to incapacitate (not kill) Spawn. But Spawn’s powers are crazy hard to counter and his feats scale a lot higher. For sake of argument, the highest level foe Dante has beaten is, arguably, Urizen. Spawn’s Urizen is leagues above DMC’s, and Spawn was able to defeat him. I don’t know if Dante could do the same, so I’d give the advantage to Spawn.
