A single ultramarine lands on Yautja homeworld, near a tribes capital. The elder of the tribe sees the ship and knows it's a threat, so he sends 5 blooded yautja equiped with standard equipment to take on this new threat. The Ultramarine is equiped with his armor, chainsword, and a bolter. The Yautja has home advantage in the jungle, can they take on this space marine? Also no nukes as they would blow up their own home.

5 Yautja:

1 Ultramarine:

Ultra marine wins

Battle 2: A unit of 5 Terminator space marines vs 100 elder predators?

Assuming the Predator Plasma cannon has the same hitting power as an SM plasma rifle, it should do the trick. But the Predator's spend far too long aiming. They'll be shot to pieces by the bolter. SM helmet will target lock and neutralize their primitive approach to stealth/hunting.

Space Marine has far more experience at dealing with opponents like a Predator, Predator's have never faced an opponent like a Space Marine.

I read a lot of the war hammer books but do not know a lot about predators. I know a space marine can move faster than a cheater can think fast much much faster than a human and could be hit by a 2012 nuke and walk away from it fine. So my money is on the SM

Predator plasma rifles seem more primitive than the ones used in 40k (then again this is the year 40.000 so it wouldn't surprise me that their tech is more advanced). I'd put it on plasma pistol level at best.

You actually picked the worst possible Marine for the Predators to face. Ultra Marines are high skilled Tyranid hunters (they have a long standing grudge against them) and as such they are trained to take down foes that camouflage and hunt in packs. You'd have done better with a more brawler type chapter like the Black Templars.

So i'm going with the Space Marine simply because this chapter (the UltraMarines) is trained to handle this exact type of threat. Throw in their superior tech and durability it should give the SM the win.

To make it more fair you should make it 50 vs one SM people like karn have killed 100s of SM's so it depends how skilled the SM is but 1 vs 50 is more fair

Well as he says just an Ultra Marine I guess he means you standard issue one. Even though they're tough they haven't got anything on Kharn who like you said cut down loads of Space Marines and intentionally got himself run over by a tank just to prove a point. The guy is just insane.

Where did you get that? o.O

You think a single SM is taking on 50 opponents with plasma weaponry, on their home turf? This isn't a special SM, he's got no iron halo, no power weapon, doesn't even have a plasma weapon himself, just a bolter. Even if Strider92's is correct in saying a Pred plasma cannon is closer to a 40k plasma pistol (which certainly might be right) winning again 5 relies on him using his superior targeting equipment, senses and fire rate to shoot first. 50 Pred's with standard gear, on their homeworld against a single, standard SM would be a ridiculous stomp in the Pred's favour.

I did not read he was a standard SM. never mind sorry about 200 vs kharn would be fun :p

Ultra Marines all all aorunders. The closes to specialise anything they have is anti Nid Hunters. Other than that The Predator is Out Strength, Out Armoured, Out Gunned, Speed Same, and the Cloak is Null Void by the Space Marine Helmet that can go Infared.

Predator Squish Hard.

@CadenceV2: In lore it says that even your basic UltraMarines are trained Nid hunters as after the invasion of Macragge they realized how stupid they had been not to treat the Nid's as more of a threat thus after the war ended Tyranind killing was adopted into their combat doctrine. It's not represented in-game (apart from special units) to avoid stomps in their favor when facing Nids.

Its the same principle as the fact that every Grey Knight is an immense psyker capable of wiping out hundreds of enemies with his mind. In lore they can do this but on the game table they are dumbed down to make them playable.

True but in the Ultra manrine Omnibus after the Nid Leviathon Invades the Ultras still are belivers in not Specialising in anything as the Codex demands. They have there special train Nid Hunters but the majority seem to still embrace the Jack of all Trades dont specialise in none.

I Ignore the Game mechanics completly its stupid to give them a second look for Fluff Debates.

Chapter? Assault Terminators or normal Terms?

@CadenceV2: Changing the subject briefly. Have you read the NightLords novels? I've just finished my current book and was planing on picking that series up. Is it any good?

If it's the assault ones, they might actually be at a disadvantage.
They like to charge in and do close range combat.

Space Marine should take this.

@hermankeson: Movie predators would probably fail

An experienced EU predator (an individual on the skill level of Smiley or Broken Tusk) would solo

Seriously Preds should win. Toomany threats for a simple Bolter and Chainsword Marine.

#25 Edited by m0ntyb0y (1245 posts) - - Show Bio

The predator would have little chance only if he's a novice or under-equipped. An elder or veteran predator would win 8/10. Any decently experienced predator with adequate gear would give the marine a run for his money, never mind 5 on 1

The Bolter shells explode on impact and I don't see them surviving more the 1 or 2 shots each.
