Solomon Grundy vs The X-Men

Giant ugly zombie thing vs mutants who wins? 
 
The mutants are the second official team so Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus, Strom, Thunderbird, Cyclops, and Sunfire.  

The X-Men are at the strength that they had in their first appearance and Grundy is at his most recent strength without the Black Lantern ring. 
 
EDIT: Because Grundy can't die they just have to either knock him out (e.g. cut off his head or legs or something) or put him in the ocean and try to drown him.
 
Setting: some random large island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Which Grundy is this, and do the X-Men win if nightcrawler warps him right above a volcano to die, and then warps back. Grundy can't F. die so what's the win condition if they kill him once ?

Grundy, he is an Earth Element.  Like how Swamp Thing was born from fire, Grundy is just an unstoppable beast.
