Snake fights super powerful enemies under special circumstances and using specific weaponry, the only ass he kicks as an old man are the asses of untrained opponents with no skill whatsoever

heres how the battle goes...
Snake sees the spy hanging around smoking a cigar...
Snake fires his gun and shoots the spy in the head...
Snake does a victory dance...
the Spy then uncloakes in front of snake holding a gun up to his head

Snake: Whaa-aa
Spy: (holds up the Dead Ringer for snake to see)
Spy pulls trigger snake's head explodes
