Shuma Gorath sees Galactus consuming a planet from afar and is about to float on over to him in order to wrap around big G and start taking his energy. But his herald The Silver Surfer witnesses Shuma and flies in front of the demon to stop it. Can Shuma prevent the Surfer from protecting his master or does Shuma get deep fried?

Battle is in a random area of space in our dimension.

Surfer dies. He would need to use something like the Crunch to stop Shuma.

This battle already happened. Worse comes to worse Surfer could take some power from Galactus and blast Shuma to bits.

Start at 16:26 to see Surfer fight Shuma after Shuma snuck inside Galactus's body.

Non-canon.

That also isn't Shuma, but a pathogenic concoction cropped up by a civilization that sought to kill Galactus if you've even bothered to listen to its explanation.

Shuma-Gorath's true origin is unknown and is an extradimensional creature who devours universes.

On a relation note, this thread needs to be locked as this battle is a blinkstomp in Shuma-Gorath's favor.

why? Spite. Surfer dies terribly.

@TabithaCucumber: Do you want Silver Surfer to die?

#8 Posted by BigCimmerian (8887 posts) - - Show Bio

Shuma destroys both Galactus and Surfer with no effort.

#9 Posted by Floopay (8721 posts) - - Show Bio

Silver Surfer totally takes this. I mean, Silver Surfer is much stronger then other magic users, like Mandarin. I mean, Mandarin was defeated by Iron Man, so that clearly proves that Silver Surfer > Magic. So a being like Shuma Gorath who can be beaten by people like Chun Li in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 shouldn't have any chance against someone like the Silver Surfer. SURFER STOMPS!!!

And yes, this is 100% sarcasm.

Thanks for reading,

FLoopay

Prove it (outside of faulty wiki information).

It's also funny how you post that scan when that very same arc had an instance where Genesis, who essentially had the powers of an entire universe, couldn't destroy Shuma-Gorath and the best he could do was banish him before he re-created Marvel.

Yet in the cartoon which you have so faultily assumed as accurate, portrays an entity whose sole established purpose was to kill Galactus from the inside and out (which was never Shuma-Gorath's set goals in the canon materials anyway).

Proof: It calls itself the "Universal Scourge". Has one eye at its center, and tentacles that drain power. Shuma-Gorath has one eye at its center, has tentacles that drain power, and the narration has called him "The Scourge of All That Is". The similarities are all there. And on the comicvine page it even said that it was Shuma-Gorath before someone edited it out.

Who is to say that the Universal Scourge aka Shuma in the cartoon wasn't created to kill Galactus?

1.) Shuma-Gorath was never called a "Universal Scourge" in any of the known canon arcs in which he makes his appearances. Try again.

2.) The Eye of Zhaitan from Guild Wars 2 has one eye at its center, has tentacles, and uses magic. That must make Zhaitan 'Shuma-Gorath'! Genius! *Sarcasm*

3.) The Eye of Zhaitan from Guild Wars 2 has one eye at its center, has tentacles, and uses magic (Repeats this as well because you've basically repeated the same point twice.)

4.) Similarities mean nothing. Your logic is embarrassingly asinine. You just basically and indirectly stated that Sentry is Superman now. See how your whole premise falls apart? Thank you for proving my point. It was edited out because it was FALSE.

5.) Shuma-Gorath wasn't created to kill Galactus. The official Marvel wiki classifies him as an 'extradimensional' demon. The creature in the video clip is of PLANETARY origin. Cartoons are non-canon. Please be sure to read up on some accurate sources before you make fecklessly faulty assumptions like this again.

@Ohgawd: Man, Shuma Gorath wasn't created to kill Galactus because Galan is old as our universe I think it is around 20 billion years, but Shuma is extradimensional demon which means he could be even older then that.

Now even if he DID get handled by the FF through some plot-driven technicality, Galactus was handled by THOR and some of the heroes of Earth at his hungry state. Your logic dictates that Galactus loses to Silver Surfer based on those accounts.

Grasping at straws? I'm not the one who's treating something that took place in a television series like it's canon, genius. Would you care to explain how something/someone can consistently be of extradimensional origin, but of PLANETARY origin at the SAME TIME?

And I can easily explain Shuma-Gorath being extradimensional in origin and planetary in origin at the same time. The race of beings that created Shuma-Gorath resided on a planet located in a separate dimension. It's really that simple.

And I know I'm smart but you're flattering me by calling me a genius all the time. *blushes*

1) He's called the "Scourge of All That Is" - All That Is = Universe which would equal "Scourge of the Universe".

2) Guild Wars 2 isn't endorsed by Marvel or in Marvel media. Genius!

3) Guild Wars 2 isn't endorsed by Marvel or in Marvel media. Genius!

4) Similarities are too much here. They're far too close in this case for it not to mean something.

5) Thanos Imperative says otherwise. Shuma was part of the group that had the Galactus of the Cancerverse killed, which was also trying to kill the Galactus of the main universe.

1) 'Scourge of All That Is' can describe numerous different beings outside of Shuma-Gorath in the Marvel Universe. Try again.

2) I was merely pointing out the flagrant flaw in your line of logic, genius! Don't put words in my mouth.

3) I was merely pointing out the flagrant flaw in your line of logic, genius! Don't put words in my mouth.

4) If your logic was the least bit usable, then Sentry is Superman.

5) You realize that Thanos Imperative was written at least 12 years after that episode was aired, right? You also realize that the group of entities that Shuma-Gorath was a part of don't have planetary origins like the creature in the video clip you just linked to does, right? The same entities who were stated to be vastly more powerful than the Galactus Engine which even the real deal Galactus from the 616-reality couldn't defeat/destroy, right? You also realize that these same entities (with Shuma-Gorath) wasn't only going for Galactus, right?

You're grasping at straws at this point. And I don't see how you think Silver Surfer doesn't have a chance when Shuma's been handled by a few depowered members of the Fantastic Four. :/

You are either completely ignorant of the facts or a flat-out litigious individual.

Please go back and pore over those scans again. Shuma-Gorath, who was basically 'hungry and weakened' (as stated ON PANEL), was having the upper hand the ENTIRE TIME over the FF and the Salem Seven before Strange teleported him to Stonehenge.

And we saw that Shuma-Gorath had an equilibrium weakness, heck it's his BIGGEST weakness (as stated ON PANEL). So even if Shuma-Gorath was hungry, Silver Surfer could exploit Shuma's equilibrium weakness by zooming around him until he gets dizzy.

*blushes*

Wrong on every account. The scan clearly shows that Shuma-Gorath had the upper hand over all Four of them before the member of the Salem Seven showed up to interrupt him. Notice it is also mentioned by Nicholas Scratch that he was 'WEAK AND HUNGRY AFTER HIS SLUMBER'.

If its greatest weakness was its equilibrium then Stephen Strange himself (heck, even the ALL-KNOWING Vishanti) would have exploited it 30+ years before this ridiculous exaggeration was even made by the writers. Zoom around him before he gets knocked off his surfboard and gets SUCKED dry of his vitals? Yeah. The cartoon you referred to has the Silver Surfer getting creamed by the same entity (you mistakenly confused for Shuma-Gorath), obliterating the whole assumption that Silver Surfer would have a PRAYER of victory against the real deal. You've just made it worse for yourself.

Your second point basically sums up that you have not read The Thanos Imperative arc nor have you familiarized yourself with the surrounding stories of it AT ALL. The Many-Angled Ones were said to have originated from and lived among the 'space between realities' and traveled to different dimensions and realities to feed on. Therefore, the true origin of the Many-Angled Ones CANNOT be PLANETARY. The gap between realities is a VOID. An empty pocket that carries practically NOTHING. There are no PLANETS to originate from as you have faultily suggested. This is where your entire ridiculous correlation falls apart.
