My point is Zarathos should damn well be able to hang with the Herald of Galactus.

I agree. They are both extremly powerful characters while fighting at their best. I'm inclined to say zarathos would win a majority but I wanna know what other ppl think

Apart from Thor: Blood and Thunder Thor certainly hasnt beaten Silver Surfer to the best of my knoweledge, and an amped up Surfer got the better of Thor the first time they met, and Surfer beat Thor 2 out of 2 in What If (totally non canon) and the other fights they have had, which are only 1 more that i know of, was a stalemate, as both stopped fighting after Odin headbutted Galactus and both fell on earth, one knocked out the other got back up and healed.
Would you happen to have scans, or issue number where Thor has beaten Surfer?
I dont think Surfer an win Zarathos, he did kill Lucifer with 1/2 his powers that not a feat Surfer can match. Surfer obviously feels guilt so penance should work on him. The Thor vs Surfer part is something i am finding hard to understand.

I heard Thor beat Surfer that Time when Odin mixed it up with Galactus. I also thought Thor beaten Surfer sometime in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline.

No they didnt it was a stalemate, they stopped after they realised Galactus and Odin fell to earth, here is the full fight.

They never fought during Infinity Gauntlet saga, why would they even fight, after all IG saga was all about Thanos being a god, and an assemblage of Marvel heroes (both Thor and Surfer included, and it was Erik Masterson as Thor rather than our bonafied Thor) and cosmic abstract who fought against Thanos, then shortly agaisnt Nebula. They never fought each other during that Saga.

Yeah. You might be right. The Rider is traditionally very difficult to harm...Zarathos Rider was a BEAST...now that I think about it, penance stare SHOULD work on a guy who killed billions while serving Galactus.

Fair enough its easy to get mixed up. Although Thor did not have the power gem when he beat Surfer the first time around during the same story arc, only warrior madness (which itself is little arguable), and the second time they fought with power gem, Silver Surfer has allies with him i.e. Dr. Strange, Moondragon, Drax, Maxim, Gamora and Pip the troll, and the group still lost but that is somewhat understandable, since power gem actually gives you the power of a god. The only one who held his own against him, although for a short time was out beloved old Thanos.
