Actually, in this book SS got beaten down bcoz of DS attacked him with Omega Effect from behind.
that s quite cheating, man, although that proves that SS is not invulnerable to OE.
But if both are well prepared, I think SS ll win this.

If SS is faster than Superman, he can explode DS with power cosmic (probably so easily).
Wow, i'm surprised I missed this the first time round.....reading back I saw a lot of familiar names I haven't seen in a while, and a few I've never heard of...... now I have to go pull out my "The Hunger" book and read it again :^|....like I don't have enough comics lying around to catch up on, lol. I think Darkseid would give Surfer a nice battle but would have to retreat before it ended.
Darkseid takes this because DS can manage to keep up with Superman and Superman is far more powerful than Surfer in the brute strength area. Superman even stated he doesnt hold back against DS. DS is just that powerful in comics. DS is not as slow as yal think he is....plus he has alot more power than Surfer. DS would beat Surfer down into Submission.

Not to start an argument but why is it that whenever DS has a low showing people say bad writing or PIS? Even if it's happened quite a few times? Yet his really high showings are never questioned as being PIS or bad writing.

Maybe because a good chunk of his low showings come from books like superman/batman and countdown(you know crapfests full of bad writing and continuity holes),out of context scans,and showings which were revealed/retconned to be avatars or dessad.

Ok, but guys like Superman/Gladiator/Martian/Surfer defeating him isn't PIS or Bad writing if they doing it by superspeed. IDK why people undersetimate reaction speed. Most comics with Flash show us how fast people see the world. And DS by not being speedster, can't win with them.
well if the source is what protects beings from darkseid's omega beams than theoretically speaking silver surfer should be wiped from existence. i just cant help but consider the difference in speed which ss has the advantage in. im still gonna give the majority of the battles to darkseid though( random encounters of course). if surfer knows what to expect than it could be a different story.
@atom895: thats the same way if darkseid had even a day or a few hours of prep he could just go around creating a army of powerful beings to stomp surfer as hes already created a being on par with takion who could match silver surfer
I'm pretty sure PIS-aside (and with PIS I mean going against the established fact that the OE can affect all that is not protected by the Source so stop bickering about DS having PIS alibis all the time) that the Omega Beams will wipe Surfer out of existence unlike what happened to Galactus in the non-canon crossover. But one thing to keep in mind is that the OE can be outran by Surfer like the 2 Flashes did in Final Crisis. And then it could be directed to him ala Black Racer.
I'd have to say DS wins in a slugfest. Energy manip of SS would mean nothing. Reality manip doesn't affect DS so why would energy manip do? Darkseid losses if he uses his OE (as stated above) or if SS tries to speedblitz. My 2 cents.

That's not an established fact at all. And I don't think Darkseid is immune to reality manipulation either.
If you put the whole DS = Thanos > SS aside and consider Darkseids abilities - he has disintegrated powerhouses like Kalibak with "a touch," leveled Superman and nearly killed Lobo with his Omega Beams. Having said that; Silver Surfer cannot take DS in brawl without external help and I doubt augmenting his strength would allow him to surpass darkseid's. Surfer is top tier but he won't win this
