Silver Surfer and Hercules vs Thanos

Olympus is under attack so zeus contacts the help of silver surfer to meet thanos before he arrives and hercules goes with him.
Team gets 2 hours prep thanos gets none.
Battle takes place on a mars like planet that has an atmosphere.

Kinda of a mismatch here. Hercules brings little of way of anything other than strength and even then he is outclassed by Thanos. He can easily be lobotomized, BFR'ed, defeated via matter manipulation or cosmic blasts, or just beaten to death or KO. Given that Surfer is here, the first two options would probably be the ones he would turn to. Then it just becomes a battle between the Surfer and Thanos, and comicbook history has consistently shown that the Surfer is Thanos' inferior.

Thanos and SS are probably more or less equal in power, but the SS is not a ruthless devious mad demi-god ready to do just anything to achieve his goal. Hercules would most likely get mind controlled after a few seconds.

Thanos has frequently proven that he is significantly more powerful than the Silver surfer IMO.

True but it's difficult to say since the Surfer doesn't seem to know very well how to use his power(s). During the 80's Buscema run he even defeated Mephisto in his own realm without resorting to any kind of artifact, but I'll concede things were very metaphoric back then and it was more to show how good hearted people shall prevail on evil, no matter how strong.

The main issue here is they can't do anything to him. Despite all the power the Surfer is sporting Thanos is rebuilding his atomic structure from nothing and can't kick the bucket.

Thanos. I made a similar match-up once, http://www.comicvine.com/forums/battles/7/thor-silver-surfer-and-gladiator-vs-thanos/695791/. General consensus was that Thor, Gladiator, and Silver Surfer would all get crushed by Thanos.

with 2 hour prep Herc can get some magic weapons in, like Lion skin and adamantine Axe/mace....................they would still get smashed though

@Greendevil: Yeah, I agree with that statement. I almost had Adam Warlock on the team, but kept him off since I though he might be a bit too much (also I didn't have a good grasp of his feats outside of the Infinity Gauntlet arc)...but now of course I wish I had added him though.

Thanos beats the Surfer first...then he stomps Herc into oblivion....he is simply beyond these two characters
