Deathstroke wins eventually.
Not a stomp b/c it will take a decent amount of time to win ... but stomp in effect that shocker definitely won't win.

You replied to the wrong person. emperorznb is up there above me.

Eh, but if he's not then an argument can be made for Shocker.
I suppose...I doubt anyone will do it though, shocker isn't exactly as popular or well known as deathstroke.@jashro44 said:

@jashro44: I know one who might. The K4tzm4n. Or maybe Spidey 15 if he pops up.
@SoA: Shocker is a guy who consistently tags Spider-Man and is smarter than most think.
Lots of people bring up Slade beating teams, but forget to mention all the prep he gets before doing so.
Yes shocker can and has hit spider-man. However deathstrokes range attacks such as his staff will probably make up for his lack of speed and agility (in comparisons to spider-man). And if deathstroke can get up close his sword will allow him to cut shockers head off despite shockers defenses.@jashro44: Ok you're more of a Spider-Man buff than me. Has shocker consistently tagged Spider-Man?

This is the showdown thread for Morph and k4tz, mark my words!
Hah! Honestly, I can only see Herman taking a majority if Slade is limited to close combat weapons. Otherwise, his skill with firearms and similar weapons should not only force Shocker to take cover, but could potentially eliminate him, too (a projectile from the bo-staff would definitely damage him). Slade with a sword and this set up? I think Shocker's long range capabilities could give him the win (though Slade's agility is not to be underestimated). Standard gear Slade? I think he can take it.
I think a case could be made for Shocker, as aforementioned, jobbing aside, he's better than most give credit for. If he could keep Deathstroke at bay with his defenses and projectiles, I don't see why Deathstroke wouldn't eventually be taken down.

I wholeheartedly agree with the first half. I'm a big advocate for Shocker and feel like he's often underestimated a very good deal. However, in this location, Slade has the means to approach him (albeit with difficulty) through alleys, cover on the streets, etc, all the while firing back with basic firearms, small explosives (grenades), or, if allowed, blasts from his bo-staff. While I fully believe Shocker's vibro-shield can hold up to some degree of small arms fire, Herman questioned how well it would hold after taking only one sniper rifle round to the back. I think a rapid amount of accurate gunfire could force Herman to take cover as well, allowing Deathstroke to accelerate his approach. It's not a walk in the park for Slade (gtfo HE BEATZ DA TEAMZ debaters), but I think with proper gear he has the skill and means to overcome Schultz.

And Shocker jobs very rarely in comparison to the majority of Spider-Man's rogues gallery (he is far and away one of the most competent ones, actually), his showings do not require distillation to make him challenging.
Definitely. I think a lot of the negative impressions come from his appearances in TAS from the 90s. Thank God I haven't seen abuse of his defeat (with Tombstone) under Waid.

Just about anyone got destroyed by Spider-Man in that story so I wouldn't hold it against them.
I think we regularly dread, so to speak, that some low showings will find their way into the battles forum only to realize people's perception of characters rarely ever changes, for better or worse.

You're using logic. Many don't. One drop of that scan in a popular thread and BAM! "Spidey can one-shot Shocker with ease" is the new flavor of the week!

If we are being illogical you can just as easily use the scans of the upgraded Shocker from Peter Parker: Spider-Man. Apparently even Shocker himself realized he was too powerful in that thing and wanted to make things interesting again, hence why he stopped using it.

Fair enough. I wasn't questioning if Slade wins or not, I just felt like he was being underrated a bit.
It comes down to space and distance. If Shocker can keep Slade at a distance and kill Slade with his shocking ability then Shocker wins. But once Slade gets close to him and starts landing several deadly blows and strikes then Shocker is done for. Slade has the speed and agility to keep up with Shocker almost like Spider Man would. And because Slade brings more to this fight with fighting abilities and weapons and enhanced abilities I think Slade is gonna win this.
With the starting distance, I feel Shocker has a chance and could give Slade some issues, but I think Slade takes a majority to close the distance.
