Conditions

• Battle set in neutral city where both are familiar with language and customs
• Sherlock feats from the BBC series
• Light feats from the manga/anime
• No Death Note, unless specified

Rounds

Round 1:

• 1 week prep
• Full knowledge on each other
• Start at opposite ends of the city and have to get to each other
• Morals off (but otherwise in character)
• Victory by kill

Round 2:

• Light only knows Sherlock as "S"
• Sherlock is trying to find Kira, and is in the position of L
• In character
• If Sherlock proves Light is Kira, he wins
• If Light uncovers Sherlock and kills him, he wins
• Sherlock has same resources as he has in the series (John, homeless network, Mycroft etc.)

Round 3:

• Same as round 1, but this time, Sherlock has Mycroft and Light has L

Round 4:

• Part 1: Chess match
• Part 2: Hand-to-hand fight
• Part 3: Deduction game

Round 1: Going with sherlock.

Round 2: Light. He should be able to find out about sherlock, considering he doesn't have hidden identity. While even if sherlock does find out about light being kira, it's quite tough to actually prove it.

Round 3: Sherlock and mycoft. Mycoft's resources are more focused, while L has limited influence over the police.

Round 4:

Part 1: I'd say sherlock. I won't be surprised if he memorized good amount of chess moves lol

Part 2: I don't recall either being super-proficient in fighting. But going with sherlock, he seems sturdier than light. :p

Part 3: Light, I suppose. More impressed by his deductions than sherlock.

I need to brush up on my sherlock, though. Can't remember much from it. Going to watch all three seasons back to back sometime.

Light writes Sherlock Holmes in the notebook. RDJ version dies. Benedict then appears from behind Light and Baritsus Light shoving the book up his a*s.

Its very difficult...sherlock has an aggressive investigation method. Almost everyone knows his name and face as well. He is far superior as far as overall deduction, and reasoning. However, anonymity is not his strong suit. Given the circumstance that light didn't know his identity and both had their actual resources available and were on equal grounds to start with...sherlock wins every time. He could see a pack of gum at the police station and know who kira and L are and have it all wrapped up and be at home having dinner within ninety minutes, with his very own new death note ;) . I love death note too...but im just saying.

Sherlock should win all rounds except one.

Mycroft's on another level than all these lightweights.

Sherlock all rounds except for one. Round one has a loophole. If they have full knowledge of each other, they know their opponents name, so Light easily.

sherlock isn't even close to being L level. The top 3 detectives in deathnote earth are all allies used by L himself.

L can study a case in every possible angle, to the point he can predict even a 0.1% chance rate.

Light outsmarted him (well for the most part) and the anime clearly gave a vibe that they are equal.

Light easily .spite battle , Light knows Sherlock name in such conditions .

Round 2:

like i said Sherlock isn't at Ls level , Light outsmarted L so Sherlock is dead .

Round 3:

SPITE, L is WAY more resourced, he built a freaking skyscraper in a extremely short time a 4 month or so.

adding kira is a stomp.

@flashback0180: As people have said before. Sherlock could tell you who L and kira were just by finding a mere sandal on a table.

Light is far below sherlock in terms of deduction.

@flashback0180: What do you mean by "Novel". I'll just take a guess and say you mean manga. In which is of course we are. However it still doesnt change the fact that sherlock hilariously wins this.

As ill say again. Sherlock would simply need to find a pair of moudly slippers and would be able to solve this entire case. IF L was Sherlock, Kira would have been found out quite literally in the first episode.

Sherlock most likely takes every round except the first one. Giving Light any sort of in-depth knowledge about an opponent equals death by Death Note for said opponent. Unless the opponent possesses some sort of defense against such death (or can resurrect himself) then a scenario like round 1 is an automatic win for Light.
