(Shaolin Monk vs Ninja)-DW!
both standard gear
Monk has whitewood staff, steel jian(or steel sword)
Ninja has katana and two shurikens
For Monk's favor, he is given leather body armor
Takes place in a monastary courtyard
they stand 50 yards apart
who wins?
just for kicks, katana and jian are adamantium! teehee :)
Both know they will have a a battle?
Becuase the Ninjas were not that good, they use the darkness to attack and move, if the monks know the ninja is coming the monk wins.
But if dont know, the Ninja wins.
" Both know they will have a a battle? Becuase the Ninjas were not that good, they use the darkness to attack and move, if the monks know the ninja is coming the monk wins. But if dont know, the Ninja wins. "QFT.. The samurai are a better match against the monks.
Barge in against a enemy military base and fight head-on why don't ya? Pathetic ninja.
Well to be fair, modern taijutsu is fairly formidable against modern wushu.
Also they run away always they have a chance, i liked the firt American Ninja movie, the other ones sucked.
Not particularly because of Ninjitsu. Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū incorporated ninjutsu mainly for stealth lessons and clandestine intelligence gathering. Not for head-on fighting. The main reason they were badass in duels were because of Koryu Bujutsu (mainly taichijutsu) and the empty-hand Jujutsu." @DeathpooltheT1000: Your generalizing. Part of Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu curriculum is ninjutsu and they may be the greatest martial school of all time. "
I really wish Deadliest Warrior would actually do a fight like this. Almost all they ever do is "this warrior known for his savagery and brute strength" vs "this warrior known for his skill and agility".
They never do a strong guy vs a strong guy, or a quick guy vs a quick guy.
"This is a closer fight as the ninja now knows the eighteen forms of togakure bujutsu. I still pick the monk though. But it's a closer fight.fine then, if this helps the ninja has trained in Togakure-Ryu, which specialized in all things: climbing, ninjutsu, taijutsu
overall, the ninja is highly skilled

" here's a question: Could the ninja actually land a strike on the monk with a shuriken? "Most likely, they're still human.
"Hells to the yea. Ninja like all Japanese warriors trained with their sword till it was a part of them.also:
Would the Ninja's katana skills be on par with the Monk's skills with the sword?
"
It depends of the monk, you belvie Monk are in general something like Jet Li, they trained diferent styles, the North Shaolin was better with punches and South Shaolin was bettter with the kicks, also they trained diferent weapons" @SSGL1 said:

The it depensds if it was a Shaolin North or South, to know if he was better with the sword, also, many monk dont trained with the sword, they trained with other weapons.
