Set vs Midgard Serpent

So Galactus is tired of his Heralds. Especially the ones who turn against him, or get beat up by Earth heroes...  So he decides he wants a really cool pet/servant this time, and decides what better than a snake. But alas, Galan cant just have any random reptile roaming his ship, he has a very big reputation to uphold.  So he decides the victor of a Snakeskin Duel will be his new companion in space.

Could someone be kind enough to clue me in as to where Set originates? Is it Marvel or DC? The only Set I know of is the Egyptian god which this clearly isn't. I don't think I can add to the forum but I would like to learn from it. : )  Thanks.

I think the Midgard Serpent actually has more(and by extension, better) feats.

Set, on paper, should be far more powerful though.
