Well, it seems in the comic that The Collective initially beat both Iron Man and the Sentry before being defeated by the Sentry, Ms. Marvel, and another I can remember. From that historical data, it seems The Collective would beat the Sentry one on one.

You need to remember something though since you obviously read the comic. Neither player has experience with their powers. Sentry still remains cloaked in mystery. We don't know much about him since he's still relatively new. As time goes by however, he should be a high ranking character.
