This is a great match-up, IMO.

Senator Armstrong was able to tank punches coming from a guy who stopped Outer Haven with one hand and could throw around Metal Gear Rays a few hundred feet into the air. He was also able to destroy EXCELSUS, which weighed 1,000 or so tons by repeatedly punching it.

Round 1 goes to the Senator 6/10, and Round 2 goes to Whitebeard 6/10

This is actually a brutal stomp in favor of whitebeard.. white beard cracked the freaking air with his fists and caused two big tsunamis, the punches of his shockwaves causes large earthquakes. Whitebeard has the ability to destroy the world.

Nano machines isn't saving armstrong into turning into red paste.

If bloodlust was on, then yeah, Whitebeard could use his powers to destroy Armstrong. But in a fair fight, even with the devil fruit powers, Armstrong would pull through. I mean, Raiden has the power to throw people into space with sheer force alone and Armstrong tanked his punches like they were nothing.

Raiden hasn't throwed people into space he is at least 100 tonner. while whitebeard is a lot more. Armstrong relies too much on his durability which will be his greatest demise.

I see WB taking a solid majority in both scenarios.

I don't think Armstrong could take those island splitting attacks from Shirohige.

Round 2:WB in his prime is featless but assuming that far weaker characters like Don Chinjao is a continet slicer this is murder stomp

Yeah, I did the math. You are seriously underestimating both Armstrong and Raiden here.

The standard Metal Gear Rex has a mass of 505,405 kg. Raiden has no problem throwing it 100 meters off of the ground. The energy required to lift such an object 100 meters off the ground is 495,341,000 J. When faced with a 100 kg human, Raiden can throw him about 500,000 meters up if we take the low end of estimates.

It took several blows to actually destroy Marineford, and Whitebeard did it with help. In fact, Blackbeard had to finish destroying the building after he was killed. The first and most powerful of his punches was only capable of denting the steel siege wall, which is leagues below the advanced alloys and nanomaterials that Armstrong was punching through.

That's nice for lifting feats(personally I believe Raiden is much stronger than a 100 tonner considering he halted that battleship which should be in the 10s of 1000s range) but as far as striking feats go he doesn't match up to Edward.

Raiden has no feats for punching mostly because he relies on his sword for all aspects of combat. The only time we've seen him punch is when he's facing off against Armstrong, and, given the calculations I made, it should've been more than enough to tear through a Metal Gear REX, much less a cyborg. The fact that Armstrong was able to shrug off punches from him so effortlessly just alludes to Armstrong's durability.

The marineford wall is no ordinary steel.. it is clearly to have been made of unknown materials.

Also whitebeard wrecked the marineford with his devil fruit powers.

Whitebeard's devil fruit powers are based on area of effect. It's mainly the reason why he wasn't able to kill Akainu, nor could he destroy the Marineford building. Other than destroying the football field, even if Whitebeard did do major damage to Armstrong, then his healing factor will kick in and his nanomachines and organs will just repair themselves.

As for the steel wall thing, I doubt that there is anything advanced enough in the OP world to produce anything stronger than steel or a steel alloy. Also, Whitebeard used the Gura Gura no Mi from a distance to chip away at the building, suggesting that he wasn't able to take on the building entirely using physical force.

Conversely, Armstrong punched Metal Gear EXCELSUS apart with ease. Keep in mind that it was made out of durable nanomaterials far stronger than steel, meant to rip cyborgs and buildings apart.

@chibi_cute: Raiden is no hundred tonner. He is at least a 10,000 tonner. Mg exculses was 17,000 tons and raiden tanked exculses and senator blitz raiden. Senator has the ability to punch the ground creating magma. His nanomachines are extreme. Raiden's sword was stated to be indestructible and senator did break that sword and that sword can weaken molecular bonds and is no ordinary sword. 100 tons huh. Maybe thats why you support white beard cuz he is not. Metal gears are nuclear weapons able to withstand nuclear wars and armstrong with his fist destroyed it so that punch is like a concentrated nuke. Armstrong takes this easily. By the way being able to break air and cause tsunamis. It took the murasma blade to be able to have a chance against armstrong and his durability is stronger than diamonds for petesake. Proof: since diamonds are made of molecules but can be broken with its own material will be split by raiden's standard blade because it weakens bonds and causes them to break. The murasma blade has a higher effect on this and raiden has been cutting titanium this whole time. Whitebeard can't even hurt armstrong.

Armstrong for the win bith rounds and even armstrong can destroy the world with his bare hands. So math is what your saying. Guess what your vision fools you and ray was tossed by raiden in his inferior body. As stated the new raiden changed immensly becoming way more powerful. Exculses' body makes up an aircraft carrier. Splitting continents especially because what makes up a continent is not steel but rock. Armstrong made a concentrated nuke which also has the power to destroy the world.

@thitiki: Guess what. What has raiden's sword been cutting all this time. How did his sword clash against sam's sword and survive and still beat sam. Armstrong broke that sword and these are not just claims. You haven't been reading lately on metal gear wiki.

And also play the game, view all codec calls.

Wb will have to do hell more than just breaking air. Not strong enough. How small are atoms and how does an ordinary sword weaken chemical bonds.

I think it's pretty even honestly...unless Whitebeard is doing some kind of reality punching thing like the hulk did. I think Armstrong should be able to take anything he can dish out if not, and Armstrong is well...stronger. Until I see evidence of Whitebeard manhandling someone who can lift over 10,000 tons then he loses.

Do you guys have any idea what it took to beat armstrong and yet he still cannot get 1 hit k.o and that murasma blade can split objects 50x bigger than the sword itself including strength that is over 10,000 tons adding power to that blade. Whitebeard still can't hurt armstrong. Gimme more proof.

@frogdog: Metal gears a nuclear machines. They can survive nukes and exculses has more armor than peacewalker which was stated it can survive a nuclear war so they said they needed to use an atomic bomb. Islands are made of inferior rock and exculses tunneled underground no problem. It is more impressive.
